MY BETRAYAL LIST ‼️‼️
🕯️ My body betrayed me when it couldn’t keep my baby safe.
💧 My skin betrayed me when grief showed up in breakouts and dullness, a shell of what once was.
🩵 My reflection betrayed me when I didn’t recognize the woman staring back.
😔 My mind betrayed me when it replayed every “what if” and “if only.”
💤 My rest betrayed me when sleep became both an escape and a punishment.
💔 My heart betrayed me when it learned how to beat with a missing piece.
And yet—
🌿 My skin taught me that healing is possible, layer by layer.
💆🏻♀️ My rituals became sacred moments of grounding.
☀️ My reflection softened as I started to see strength instead of shame.
🕊️ My body, though broken, is still home.
✨ My care routines became quiet love letters to the woman who survived.

Allow me to introduce myself for the first time as your host, Alexa C. Girl mom, an angel mama to a perfect little boy in heaven, birth trauma & uterine rupture survivor and former NICU mama of a 28 week old preemie baby boy. This project is so incredibly important to my heart for a number of reasons.
After tragically losing my son during delivery in September of 2022, I began sharing my story & healing journey within a tik tok community I was building that quickly grew to almost eight thousand individuals, reaching over a million views & connected me to so many incredible women. I then became a NICU mama of a 28 weeker after premature rupture of membranes at 27 weeks gestation. The support & conversations had, have healed my heart & some broke it all over again. My messages flooded with other uterine rupture mama’s and those who are considering a TOLAC/VBAC & I realized we needed a safe space to educate, speak our truth, normalize the good, bad & ugly in the healing journey and surviving while learning to live again after loss. Within all of that, Beyond the Birth Story was born. A lot can happen during the TTC, prenatal period & during the labour & delivery process which leaves us processing long after the birth story. 🤍
