I never realized how much BEING OVERWEIGHT could impact a person’s self-confidence until COVID!

I had always been super active and involved in extracurriculars, so I maintained a healthy weight. But then COVID hit, bringing with it a sedentary lifestyle and a spinal injury. My weight skyrocketed by 10-15 kgs over a span of a year and a half.

I stopped taking pictures of myself and even performing on stage. When people joked about my weight—even in lighthearted ways—I struggled to handle it, and my mental health suffered.

But my friends and loved ones were there to lift my spirits. With their support, I started focusing on my mental and physical health.

Though I’m still working toward my body goals, I’m making progress, slowly but steadily.

Over these past four years, I’ve learned so much about self-love, even at my lowest.
