I had a cool idea for the kind of stuff I could talk about for my channel, if I ever decide to pursue making it an active one. Video games are a relatively recent form of creative expression that has only just solidified as a medium just over a decade or so. In just 52 years of official existence, we've identified 9 distinct generations with different cultural spheres, education, technologies, and more.

Despite these similarities to cinema, TV, and books, however, we have a hard time as a society viewing video games with a focus on their creators overall. Sure, we have a studio name, one of a few corporate owners, and a system to point to whenever the thought arises for a particular game, but I have yet to see overarching studies covering movements, generations, and other larger divisions in the format of an engaging YouTube video.

That could just be me being stupid and uninformed, but I'm convinced that there's always a rare chance that there's something out there that no one has done yet. I'm naively hoping that that thing is a succinct review channel covering video games at a "scholarly" macro scale with specific detailing and a narrative focus rather than tackling recent trends or individual games.

I could just imagine making a Pointless Hub-style video titled "A narrative about _." Maybe a good first topic would be Valve. The only trouble would be the fact that I don't know how to animate, voice act, write a script, or edit. I'm in that depressing dreamer stage where I have all the ideas but none of the know how, time, money, or long term interest to run a YouTube channel. If I were to release something right now (assuming production time was not an issue), you'd probably see a silent slideshow with a few odd pictures and text.

Anyways, one can only dream. Maybe someday I'll do it, but for now, I'm better off doing something else. What are you guys' thoughts on all this? You've subscribed, so you're clearly interested in what I have to say for some reason. What do you all think of the idea of me attempting a channel, and how have you found success in yours'?

P.S. You could also just friend me on Steam. I have the same name, but if that's not enough detail, you can ask for my friend code.

Could someone help me figure out how to see who has subscribed to my channel? I want to be able to give shout-outs to you guys and connect, but I'm not used to using the channel features. If that isn't possible, feel free to talk about yourselves in the comments and share about why you've subscribed. I strive to be a positive participant within this weird but fun platform we call YouTube, and I'd really appreciate your help.

P.S. Saying "my channel" makes me shudder; I'm not the kind of personality who would get joy from saying I have authority or influence. I just want to share thoughtful comments and good vibes with others.

In case you didn’t know, I used to style my YouTube account after my dog Teddy. He’s a Lagotto Romagnolo (Italian for “Lake dog from Romagna”), or Italian Waterdog. I guess I wanted to share good vibes or something by making my profile my dog, but I realized that that was not going to garner respect or understanding. So I became Somebody to serve the dual purpose of maintaining a selective anonymity and making comedy via a pun (‘Somebody just made a post!’ “Who?” ‘Somebody!’ 😂).

If you’d like to hear more about my dog, or have suggestions for what I should do, feel free to comment! You can advertise yourselves here too, I don’t mind! I personally think that there should be a closer bond between content creators and viewers, which is why I’d like to connect with you guys (‪@Alex1_‬, ‪@gheorgheheghedus-s9e‬, and‪@FlyxWasTaken‬) here directly. Like, comment, and share at your discretion 😄👍🏻

P.S. I was thinking about a format of video that I could make (I have no experience making content firsthand; this is just naive brainstorming). How about an out of context montage, but for the channels you’re subscribed to? The idea would be to make random comedy, share cool channels with others, and allow your viewers to see the kind of content you watch and enjoy. What are your thoughts?
