Exploring vintage crafts like, knitting, sewing and crochet! ✨
Hello! I'm Claude a costume maker, sewing teacher and dress historian making my own vintage wardrobe. I share tutorials to help you learn new sewing skills and share making logs of my projects so that you can see how those skills work in context.
I love sharing my sewing adventures with you all; whatever they may be. I love to experiment and try new things so I'll be sure to share all of that with you too.
My personal style is usually around about the middle of the 20th century. The 1940s is probably my favourite era to wear but I love to sew styles from all decades. My master's degree in Victorian studies has given me a passion for historical costume and I am looking forward to many 19th century outfits to come.
So welcome! I hope you will find something here to inspire your own creative journey and I look forward to sharing my work with you.

The next Episode of Stashbusting is here!
I've had a very busy week and so I'm uploading this one not in its usual slot so please give it a little extra love so it doesn't get completely missed in people's feed.
Thank you all!

Hi team!
It’s finally happened. I joined TikTok.
After my experience with YouTube Shorts altering my videos without me realising I wanted to have another place for my videos as a sort of reference for what they should look like.
Yes I have Instagram too but I just want to cover my bases.

So if you’re a TT user come join me! I’m currently just uploading my back catalogue. I still think I’ll primarily be a Shorts person I’m just so angry about this AI-ing of my face that I’m exploring alternatives.
Thanks for your support and understanding!

Happy Halloween! I hope you're having a spooky time!
You might have noticed this video appearing under several different titles. Well at the recommendation of someone in the comments I'm trying a new YouTube feature where you can test 3 different titles against each other to see which one people are more likely to click. Confusing if you've already seen the video I know so I'm sorry about that but hopefully it'll mean more people enjoy the fun!
Let me know if you've seen the grand reveal and if you've seen more than one title. I'm curious at how it works!

Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my Sew in 20 series! I'm loving reading and replying to them all but I've run out of spoons for the day and so will have to get back to you lovely folks in the morning.
See you soon! And thanks to Woody for taking this cheesy picture of me :)

Just to say, no Vlogmas today!
No need to panic just filmed very little yesterday and today as I spent most of it resting and didn't have much to say. Plus we've been sheltering from Storm Darragh. I'll do a round up in the next episode.
Thank you all so much for your support this week 🥰

Hi Team!
Just a note to say no video this week because I'm trying to be sensible with my pacing. I have a very busy few weeks ahead so I'm trying to batch some relatively low energy videos now that I won't disappear completely for a month.... because I've never done that before!
Anyway, I realised recently we've never done a Q&A on this channel. So I thought now is the perfect time.
Comment your questions below and depending on how many there are I will try and answer it in the video.
And if you're wondering what I'm up to that is taking me away from you for so long. Well I'm making a 3 layer tear away trick suit for an onstage quick change where a character has to go from 1970s US police man, to wannabe John Travolta, back to 1970s US police man in the space of a single song!
By a weird twist of fate this is not my first 1970s US police costume but it is my first 1970s disco suit. Wish me luck!

So at the end of my last video I left you a bit of a cliffhanger. So finally, here it is! Me attempting to make an 1830s day dress in a week! Will I make it?
