Protest Continues at AIIMS-Bibinagar Over R G Kar Medical College Incident
On the 6th day of their protest, undergraduate students, interns, and residents at AIIMS-Bibinagar joined their counterparts across India in expressing solidarity with the resident doctors affected by recent tragic events at R G Kar Medical College, Kolkata. The protestors, disheartened by the lack of actionable responses from state and central authorities, continued their demonstrations, highlighting the urgency for systemic change.During the protest, residents and interns ceased elective services but ensured that emergency and critical care services remained unaffected. In a show of unity and compassion, doctors participated in a symbolic gesture by tying rakhis to patients, security, and support staff, while explaining the context of their protests. The day featured spirited orations, face painting, and artistic presentations to maintain high morale and call for societal support to safeguard healthcare workers.In a solemn moment, the Dean of Academics and faculty gathered in the OPD to honor the memory of the deceased. The Dean urged the assembly to view the individual not as a victim but as a martyr whose death underscores a broader societal issue. He called for collective efforts to prevent such tragedies and work towards a safer future for healthcare professionals and society at large.

कोलकाता के RG KR मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में हाल ही में हुए बलात्कार और हत्या के मामले के बाद, कोलकाता पुलिस ने 18 अगस्त 2024 से आरजी कर अस्पताल के आसपास के इलाके में भारतीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संहिता, 2023 के तहत धारा 163 लागू कर दी है। इस आदेश के अनुसार, अगले 7 दिनों तक इस क्षेत्र में कोई भी सार्वजनिक सभा, धरना या रैली की अनुमति नहीं होगी। यह कदम सुरक्षा और कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के उद्देश्य से उठाया गया है।
