New NDC Airlines Research! www.altexsoft.com/infographics/ndc-airlines-list/?…

We analyzed 82 airlines and their NDC capabilities, tracking how adoption changed since 2025.

34 airlines confirmed their capabilities directly with us. The rest we checked against the IATA ARM Index.

Big news: Turkish Airlines jumped from 37th place to #1, pushing Lufthansa to second. It went from 21 verified capabilities to 49 in a single year.

9 new airlines joined the list, from Air China to IndiGo, showing NDC is spreading beyond big full-service carriers.

Payment features are growing fast too: Payment Transaction Summary, Settlement Platform payments, and 3D Secure v2 are leading the way.

We have a new YouTube channel!
https://youtu.be/Z1bjxBYpzuk?si=tRmya...

For years, AltexSoft has built the software behind airlines, hotels, OTAs, and booking platforms. And on our main YouTube channel, we cover the business and technology of travel. That's not changing. If you were watching us for architecture, distribution strategy, expert insights, and technical deep-dives, that's still our main channel.

But not everything fits a technical deep-dive.

Somewhere along the way, we accumulated an unreasonable amount of knowledge about how travel works under the hood: GDSs, fare logic, and the reason the identical seat two rows back costs $340 more.

Expect some strange corners, too. We’ll ask questions you didn't know you had, and probably could've lived without, but here we are. We realized that this fascinating stuff never quite belonged in a professional breakdown.

So we gave it a new home: Travel, OverExplained, our edutainment channel.

The machinery of travel explained for a wider audience with a lighter format and the same love for detail and explanations. For the industry folks here, it's the stuff you already know or half-know, produced in a way you can finally send to the friends who keep asking why their flight got canceled.

💠 Our first video: Can ChatGPT actually push Booking and Expedia out of business?
https://youtu.be/Z1bjxBYpzuk?si=tRmya...

Half of travelers now plan trips with AI, yet the big OTAs keep posting double-digit growth. We dug into the 2025 earnings calls, the commission math, the emerging direct-booking standards, and the question of who handles refunds at 2 AM when the hotel overbooks. The answer is more interesting than we expected.

Also, please subscribe. It’d help us a lot!

We asked hospitality tech leaders where GenAI and agentic AI will actually change the game.

Everyone talks about hotel chatbots, but the experts say that's the least interesting part. Here's what they told us:

🔹 Conversational discovery. Up to 80% of travelers are ready to use an AI agent to plan trips. For hotels, that means more direct bookings and less dependence on OTA commissions.

🔹 Revenue management. Some RMS providers report RevPAR gains of 10–25%. But the bigger win is productivity: one revenue manager could handle 15 hotels instead of 7.

🔹 Pre-stay and post-stay engagement. AI agents can spot early demand signals and adjust offers proactively. Huge untapped potential for independent hotels.

🔹 Property quality control. AI catches issues before guests do, cutting the cost of on-site inspections.

These are just the highlights. We recommend reading the full material for all the expert insights: www.altexsoft.com/blog/genai-agentic-ai-hospitalit…

Airline offer and order management is one of the toughest engineering challenges in travel tech.

Airlines want to modernize retailing without disrupting legacy operations.
Their systems still depend on PNRs, e-tickets, EMDs, and GDS workflows. All of that was designed for flight booking, not retail. Vendors have to layer modern retailing on top of this stack and keep both worlds in sync.

Every component is engineering-heavy: PSS integration, offer creation, order servicing, payments, accounting, delivery, and cross-channel consistency. Projects like these traditionally took months.

With our AI-powered SDLC approach, we help teams ship airline retailing features in weeks. If you build O&O capabilities, integrate with a PSS, or work on cross-channel servicing, DM us! solutions@altexsoft.com
Happy to share how we cut timelines on real airline projects. www.altexsoft.com/travel-technology/airline-operat…

A year ago we published an article on Sabre integration where we estimated several months for technical implementation from kickoff to production. www.altexsoft.com/blog/sabre-api-integration/?utm_…

Since then, we've reimagined our approach to the software development lifecycle, building AI into how we plan, scope, and ship integrations. The same technical implementation now goes live in 2 weeks.

Behind every OTA, TMC, and corporate travel platform sits a stack of integrations to GDSs, bedbanks, and flight content providers. NDC, MCP, and direct booking are growing — but they don't replace these aggregators.

Why do so many software projects slow down because of miscommunication rather than technology?
In this video, we explore why design documents are one of the most underrated tools in engineering, what makes an effective design doc, and how strong documentation helps teams align, reduce costly mistakes, and build better software.

Ever been told "I can't help with that" by an AI? You've already met guardrails, the safety systems that decide what AI can say, do, and act on. As AI shifts from answering questions to taking real actions like booking flights or moving money, these invisible boundaries are becoming critical infrastructure for trustworthy AI.

This article breaks down:

🔹 What guardrails actually are
🔹 Why they matter (think hallucinations, bias, privacy, and security threats)
🔹 How they work across an agent's workflow
🔹 The different types you can layer together for protection
🔹 The tools for building them, plus practical best practices
