𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬

Back when mischievous little Susie was still living at 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗺'𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆, she loved binge-watching her favorite shows on a CRT TV, especially action-packed ones from sword-fighting adventures to gigantic monsters burning down entire cities. Not only that, she also enjoyed causing trouble by scaring people for fun, stealing their stuff, and of course, bullying Berdly.

Meanwhile, whenever Gerson left for work, he never forgot to send letters, letting his family know he was doing well. And when he returned home, Susie was always the first to greet him with pure enthusiasm. While everyone received mail from their relatives in the letterbox at least once a week, Susie never got any... and it filled her with so much anger.

She would constantly lash out, claiming how nobody cared about her. It seemed especially unfair that she was the only one being cast out. Fortunately, the doctor stepped in to help her express her feelings and grow. He took particular interest in Susie's life. And for that, she was grateful to have been raised in a place where people truly cared about her. Seeing her development, the doctor called her "the girl with hope crossed on her heart".

After all, Boom's Academy was a home for children to inspire hope and bright future, funded by the doctor himself, W.D. Gaster. From time to time, they organized events that invited other schools to perform for charity, and the most memorable one was a rock concert by December Holiday and her band. Unfortunately, she later passed away, but her memory lived on.

Years later, after Gerson's mysterious disappearance and the academy's renovation, Susie decided to move into a budget apartment with Undyne, her dorm-mate and big sister figure, who also looked up to Gerson.

The CRT TV, the letterbox, the musical instruments, and all the objects that had once held so many memories... were left to rot somewhere in the storage room.

* I literally stopped you from becoming soup stock!

Berdly:
* Y-yeah, you're right about that.
* ...
* Hey, so...
* Would you mind lending me an ear, Susie?
* Something’s been weighing on me, actually.

Susie:
* Sure... what's up?

Berdly:
* You see...
* This world has the most peculiar way of reminding me of someone.
* ...
* Ah, Gerson.
* A true artisan of steel, truly he was.
* Yet a novice to the world of books!
* The libraries here… like labyrinths of endless knowledge.
* One cannot help but think of him here!
* Poor, gifted Gerson...
* His tale ended before it could bloom.
* And you two… a connection most extraordinary!
* A closeness I could only dream of...

Susie:
* ...heh.
* Yeah.
* He really was... something else, huh.

Berdly:
* ...
* Listen, I have to confess...
* Even with all the praise I get from everyone else…
* You and Ms. Boom are the only ones who see the real me beneath the act.
* And, well, growing up with you has made it easier to be honest than with anyone else.
* Ah, I probably sound like a blundering buffoon sometimes.
* Yet.. it's genuinely reassuring that you accept me anyway.
* Call it cheesy if you must but...
* Around you, I don’t have to pretend to be perfect.
* You’ve made me believe it’s okay to make mistakes sometimes.
* Haha...
* Now, imagine, Susie...
* The chaos I’d be in if you hadn’t been there to knock some sense into me constantly!

Susie:
* Oh, don’t start!
* You’ve come a long way, you know.
* Okay, well, still annoying sometimes…
* But a lot better than before.
