Tomorrow I'll be holding the first *official* Live Stream on Patreon and answer any questions you may have! I'll be going live at - 6pm WET ( 1pm EST / 10am PDT ) If you wish to participate and ask me your questions using the chat and/or private messaging, you can pledge via www.patreon.com/marianastudycorner/ to get access (you'll also get bonus content like video scripts, exclusive videos, early access to weekly episodes and exclusive posts :)
You can now join my Patreon to get exclusive content: www.patreon.com/marianastudycorner/ I was struggling last year to find a platform that allows me to share content/things without forcing me to permanently use a video/picture format. Instagram tied me down to "pretty pictures", YouTube ties me down to "complex videos" and blogging/websites were way too high maintenance. That's why I decided to create a one-tier Patreon for different/bonus content.
If you like my work and want to support it, you can become a patron for 1$ to get exclusive content. Inside Patreon, there will be no tiers, no hierarchies and no privileges.
By becoming a Patron, you will gain access to: - Early access to all videos published on YouTube; - Access to monthly video schedules; - We get to talk about organisation, studying and productivity; - Scripts to all videos published from now on (it already includes the whole 2020 back-to-school season); - Exclusive updates and posts; - Books, apps & resource recommendations; - Study-with-me, exclusive, real-time videos; - Other exclusive bonus content (like Q&As and AMAs); - Access to polls; - Printables & resources for download. And you'll join a wonderful study community!
And for all of those who can't join - thank you for supporting this community through YouTube! It means a lot to me. Despite the new "layer of engagement" that a platform like Patreon will provide, I'll be equally active on YouTube, as always, and answering your comments as best as possible.
I've been focusing on staying digital this year, but for everyone who is a fan of a good, classic system, here's a video on how to setup and organize a binder properly:
Yesterday I deviated a bit from the usual schedule and published a video about 7 habits from highly successful students. If you missed the upload, you can watch the video here:
Next week we'll be kicking off 2020's back to school season with a video on how to take smart notes and *stay* organised for the next semester. Meanwhile, if you want to get a head start, you can watch this video on how to study for online classes:
"second brain" - "an external, centralized, digital repository for the things you learn and the resources from which they come" I loved reading about the second brain method by Tiago Forte. It's both an organisation system and a productivity masterpiece and incredibly simple and fun to work with! You can find more about it in last week's video: https://youtu.be/pBW-4w9zjC8
Just like many other creators, I will be muting my channel until the end of the week and change my regular uploading schedule in order to allow those who have been discriminated to raise their voices and help fight for their rights.
Behind the whole organization and productivity content on this channel, my goal has always been and shall always be promoting education and just how fundamental it can be in making us people better humans.
Here is a great list of resources to check out if you want to help (donate or sign a petition): blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/
And here is a great list of books by Black authors that you should start reading as soon as you can: www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/black-authors And I have a second message.
This is not the time for hypocrisy. This is not the time to make a quick dollar out of an important issue or try and gain a new following by publicly sympathizing with Black people and then forgetting everything you have been preaching about on Twitter as soon as the worst part of this specific crisis ends.
Dealing with fake people and fake behaviors on social media is part of the industry but that doesn’t mean one should associate themselves to an incredibly important cause when they lack the education, awareness and resources to do so, and instead use the latest headlines to get that “algorithm boost”.
It’s better to stay silent and get informed on the subject than publicly and audibly pretending that you care, that you are aware of the inequality suffered throughout the world by any and all minorities, when you will be the first to spit out racial slurs or avoid sitting next to a Black person on the bus as soon as you forget this ‘trend’.
If you have important resources you want to share, use the comment section below so we can all benefit from them.
Hello everyone! I hope you're staying healthy and cosy at home. I would like to make some videos addressing some difficulties, questions and problems you might be having while adapting to this different routine - problems about managing your time, work or classes, or how to handle chores while staying at home, etc. Give me some ideas for topics you'd like to see discussed so I can get right into creating some useful content for all of you. Love you all, and stay safe!
