I drew the alien from *Dandadan* in this step-by-step video tutorial. youtube.com/shorts/qXsTVJy1p8... character isn’t too complicated, making it perfect for beginners. All you need to do is observe the shapes and lines, then follow along. Once you’re done, go over it with a darker pen to refine the final lines.
The joy of simple drawing lies in seeing yourself progress from not knowing how to draw at all to creating something recognizable. That sense of achievement is incredibly fulfilling. Some subscribers have told me they feel their drawings aren’t good enough compared to others. But my dearest friends, it’s okay! The moment you pick up a pen and enjoy the process, you’re already improving.
Hanging your own handmade artwork on the wall—especially one of your favorite anime characters—brings a unique sense of pride because it represents *you*. When you truly enjoy drawing, you’ll improve faster than you realize. Everyone starts at a different point—some have been learning since childhood, while others discover their love for art through anime. Since we’re all at different stages, comparisons don’t make sense.
