Approximately 1 year ago this ship HMM ST PETERSBURG collided with another ship in The Strait of Gibraltar, crude oil tanker, GLORIA MARIS (currently off the coast of Brazil).
Here is the container ship HMM ST PETERSBURG back at The Port of Algeciras.

Here is the story about the ships from December 2024:
HMM ST Petersburg was involved in a collision at The Strait of Gibraltar on 03 December 2024 at approximately 05:20 in the early morning. The collision occurred approximately 8.9 miles southeast of the Port of Algeciras, Spain. HMM ST Petersburg is among the largest container ships in the HMM fleet. According to SALVAMENTO MARITIMO, (Spain's Coast Guard) HMM ST Petersburg and GLORIA MARIS collided 8.9 miles southwest of Algeciras. No further information has been provided as to the fault of the collision. There were 25 sailors on board GLORIA MARIS, and 24 aboard HMM ST Petersburg. There were no injuries reported by the crew.

This is the video of HMM ST. Petersburg being tugged into the port of Algeciras. At the time of recording, film crew was unaware there had been a collision and was recording as normal. The movements of the tug boats and container ship appeared to be regular upon entering The Port of Algeciras.

Currently, the HMM ST Petersburg is located at Algeciras Port and the GLORIA MARIS is anchored just off shore at Algeciras. The Port Authority has called for investigations and the ships are currently anchored and being inspected.
