THE MOVIE DAWGS

For many Star Trek means so much in so many different ways for many people around the world. Today we celebrate the 60th anniversary of its first air on television.

For that personal reason alone Star Trek to me is more than just science fiction fantasy and fun.
It's a moment that I think back fondly when it comes to time spent with my mother who herself was a Star Trek fan (Personally I think she was the OG nerd chick) , coming home from school and completely ignoring my homework because I wanted that time with my mom to sit and watch Star Trek reruns.

One of my favorite moments going to the movies was going to see Star Trek movies. I still remember as a young child seeing Star Trek 2 and one of my favorite and final times going to a movie with my mom I actually took her to go see Star Trek 5 and I paid for it with money that I actually saved up doing chores. Now Star Trek v wasn't the best movie, but it was still time spent with my mom.

During the last two films that were released in her life I always felt guilty going because she was unable to see them cuz she was paralyzed and stuck in the bed
But I was able to get a copy of Star Trek 6 so she can see their final voyage. And I had a friend make a bootleg copy of Star Trek Generations so she can see Captain Picard and Kirk together.

Any other films and television shows that came after that my mom sadly was no longer around to see them, but her spirit is always with me every time I got to see a new episode or a new movie.

I don't know what she would have thought about the Kelvin timeline, I know she probably wouldn't like NU Trek at all. But I always always go back and feel those wonderful moments spent with my mom in my heart.

Best known for her roles in "Heroes," "Nashville" and "Remember the Titans," has died at 36, her representative confirmed.

Panettiere rose to fame as a child actress before becoming a household name on television and in film. She is survived by her daughter, Kaya.

Her representative remembered Panettiere as "an incredible light and a force of nature" who brought joy to those who knew her and millions who watched her onscreen.

Further details surrounding her death were not immediately available.
