Welcome to The 1DOWN Podcast. Bringing good people together to share good conversations. "I can show you better than I can tell you". 1DOWN celebrating 30 years strong!
This is my 2014 BMW GS1200. This was my very first Adventure motorcycle. This was truly THE GAME CHANGER. When I got this motorcycle it was the beginning of a 10 year journey of me walking away from Harley Davidson with the intention of never returning, but little did I know, I would be back. I say this now, and I say it with pride, if I had to choose to live my life with only 1 motorcycle, it would be an Adventure motorcycle either BMW or DUCATI, most likely a DUCATI Adventure.
This is where it all began. My first step into the motorcycle world. It was back in 1992, I decided to get myself a motorcycle and I didn't even know how to ride one. I found the one I wanted. I rented a U-Hual and I went to pick it up. My High School buddy at the time went with me. He knew how to ride, so I figured he'd teach me the ropes and help me load it and unload it from the U-Haul. We got the bike back to my apartment and he gave me all the instructions I needed to hear and just like that, I was riding up and down the street with no hemet. The California Helmet law went in to effect in 1992 but people were still riding without one for a short bit. This motorcycle was a 1989 Suzuki 750 GSXR. It was the big boy back then. The next step up was the GSXR 1000. Now that was the beast! Back then, people would put the 1000 motor into the 750 bike to be slick! I think I kept it for less than a year. What happened was something I could not refuse. One day I rode my motorcycle to school when I was attending Chaffey College, and a asian kid in a Red Porsche 944 rolls up next to me while I was parking my motorcycle. He gets out of his car and he says, "Hey, mom parents bought me this Porsche but I want a motorcycle, do you wanna trade"? Of course I thought he was kidding, but he was 100% serious! I said, do you have the pink slip? He said yes. He then asked me if I had the pink slip to my motorcycle, and I said yes. He said, OK i will meet you back here tomorrow morning at this same time. I said, okay! Next morning I couldn't get there quick enough! I got there he was sitting in the Porsche waiting for me. He told me he DID NOT KNOW HOW TO RIDE A MOTORCYCLE! I didn't give 2 shits! I was only focused on getting the keys and pink slip to that Porsche. He asked me could I teach him to ride. I gave him the same instructions my buddy gave me and just like that, he rode off into the parking lot and I jammed up out of there in my new Porsche! We never crossed paths again. 100% TRUE STORY! - Goldie DeWitt
This is my 2014 Harley Davidson Fat Bob Dyna. I named this one FAT AZZ BOB. This Dyna was filled with premium parts and of course a 120R motor with some upgrades! of course my signature D&D exhaust, custom suspension, Lyndall brakes, corbin seat, 16 inch T bars, and a few other extras. When it came to the Dyna game, I was the absolute King. Exactly why I became known as The Dyna King!!! - Goldie DeWitt
Well, this is my very first Harley-Davidson motorcycle. It's a 2007 Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe. I got it brand new from Pomona HD. I named this one BLAXICAN. I felt it was the perfect name for this unique concept. I had no idea certain people had a certain look within the motorcycle culture. Me being black growing up around mostly Hispanics, I found myself being attracted to more of the hispanic type of Harley look. So I ended up giving my 1st Harley a look that mixed in some hispanic swag along with my black twist and boom, I created The Blaxican! My black friends were like "what the fuck is that? They said Thats a Mexican bike!" I was a bit offended but i quickly learned Blacks have a style, Hispanics have a style, and White folks have their style. So, quickly I had to figure out how do I flip this into a Black mans bike and BINGO, the idea hit me. I would turn my Softail into a full bagger! Stay tuned, I will show you the complete overhaul I did converting my Softail Deluxe into a Softail Bagger!
I named this one "FLAMED UP". The name says it all to those that know. I am a firm believer that a man's motorcycle is an extension of the owner. I've always wanted each one of my motorcycles to have it's own unique look that people would know without a doubt that was my bike even if they didn't see me get off of it. People would walk up and say with complete confidence, "That has to be Goldie's bike".
This Harley Davidson Dyna was filled with all premium top notch parts from head to toe, with a aggressive motor to back it all up! Performance Machine parts smothered this Dyna. The paint job was stunning!
This was my first "from the frame build". I was heavy into the Dyna world, but then 1 of my "white friends" said you gotta get a FXR. I was like "what the fuck is that"? He said "that's the bike the White Guys absolutly love and I feel that you would do a dope ass FXR". He told me it was the model right before the Dyna came out. He also told me to get my hands on a Chopper Guys Frame. So, took he advice and I started my project. I searched everywhere and ended up finding a Chopper Guys frame "UP NORTH" where them OTHER GUYS are and to be honest I think I bought it from one of them. So, after I got my frame it was then time to start laying out my design. I did a super heavy gold flake paint job, with a 120R Harley Davidson Race Motor, a custom inverted gas tank done by: T-Rod, D&D exhaust, lots of chrome, PM everything and lots more. This bike was a rocket!! This bike was also featured on the hit tv show "Sons of Anarchy". Thank you for your continued support. Ny be sure to SUBSCRIBE to my Youtube channel. -Goldie DeWitt
This is my 2013 Harley Davidson Dyna Switchback. This bike had all the performance you needed. I put in a JIMS 135 crate motor! A Baker 7 Speed Tranny, D & D Exhaust and so much more! This bike was a true ground rocket! I had this bike set up so mean looking it looked like a baby Road King.
Here's my 2008 Harley Davidson Screamin' Eagle Ultra Classic Electra Glide. This was my very first Harley Davidson Screamin' Eagle in 2008. This bike back in 2008 with tax and lic was about $41,000. This was a numbered bike. It was 105th Anniversary Edition. Came with a Gold Key. Did any of this help with the resale value? Not at all.
I did music, 23 inch front wheels with matching rear wheel, handlebars, extra chrome parts, Dave Mackie motor work, exhaust, wrap around fender, and some other stuff.
This was the first bike I took my first day of filming on Sons Of Anarchy. The scene in Season 2 Episode 3, when the Grim Bastards ride into the gas station. Season 2 started September 8, 2009.
This was 1 of my favorite factory Harley Davidson paint jobs. The Gold Leaf really set it off!
I named this one "BLUE BALLS". Another 1 of a kind show stopper designed & created by me, Goldie DeWitt from 1DOWN MC. This is my Harley Davidson DYNA Screamin' Eagle. Twin cam motor came with a 110 motor. This was a rare limited edition Harley Davidson that many people never even had the opportunity to see in person. This bike came stock with inverted forks! Of course I did lots of custom work to give it my touch. I also did some amazing head work with some ass kicking cams and tune! This bike too was featured on the hit TV show SONS OF ANARCHY for the GRIM BASTARDS MC.
This is my 2009 Harley Davidson Road Glide Screamin' Eagle. This was hands down the absolute dopest Harley Davidson Road Glide SE ever featured on any television show in history to this day!
When I was offered the opportunity to have my bike featured on Sons of Anarchy I felt like it was a dream come true! The President of the Grim Bastards MC named T.O. was played by acclaimed actor Michael Beach. T.O. used my bike for the 6 seasons until the last show of the last season as the featured bike ridden by the President of the Grim Bastards MC.
Thank you Michael Beach for never having a spill on my bike.
When I sold this bike, it got me into my first Rolls Royce. The Owner of O'gara Rolls Royce of Beverly Hills, CA made me a deal I could not refuse!
