Indika is a music and visual storytelling project built around original songs and cinematic films.

Each piece is written and produced as part of a wider body of work exploring identity, emotion, and experience through music and imagery.

It's my birthday this week! (Yes, there is a real human behind Indika and she has a real birthday!) And what better soundtrack to my Wonderland After Dark party? If you listen really closely, there is at least one new track in there that I haven't released yet. I'll be impressed if anyone spots it! Please feel free to use the Indika Party Mix for your own party! Or maybe for a really long drive...

I made this as a set of tracks for the Ecstatic Dance which forms a fun part of Girls Night In! My best friend and I like to dance out in Nature by moonlight. In former years, we would be burned as witches. But I think there is something deep within the female brain that lights up when dancing by moonlight out in Nature!

Today I was reminded of the importance of seeing and appreciating the beauty around us. You can have everything possible, but if you can't see and appreciate the beauty, the light, the love, then you have nothing. But if you can see those things and feel gratitude in your soul, then you are the richest person on Earth.

I've written some fairly dark and sad songs recently, but I'd like to share this one that I wrote nearly a year ago. It's about the beauty of the forest. I wrote it sitting on various logs and by the river. It happened shortly after an experience I had in the snow in which I went from complete numbness to suddenly being overwhelmed by the beauty of Nature.

Sometimes the music grips me and I can't help but dance! I did exactly that in a horse feed shop today when Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" came on the radio. It reminded me of that scene in The Full Monty. Before long, I had all the staff and customers singing and dancing to it!

This song of mine, Dancing at the End of the World Tonight, is proving rather dance-inspiring too! I can't help but dance as soon as it starts playing!

Has a song ever caught you completely by surprise and made you dance in the most unexpected place?

Some of my favourite songs almost never existed. I get a lot of ideas, but not all make it into a song. Some days, the ideas seem to rain from the trees of the forest or flash up neon in the night air when I am on the phone to a friend.

But some fall victim to...

"That's too strange."

"Nobody will understand that."
"That's probably a silly title."

Then somehow...

- Are You Made of Meat?

- Pink Fluffy Cloud.

- Run My Wolf.

...became real.

I'm very glad I didn't talk myself out of them.

Has there ever been something you nearly didn't do - but you're so glad you did? 💙

Are there any videos that you would like to see still images from? When I am making my videos, I normally create quite a few. Here is one from "Run My Wolf", featuring the beautiful Blake (my own dog!).

I was listening to my new video "More About Love" again just now. I wonder if other listeners understand it? I suppose it doesn't matter. We all take what we take from any song. Ultimately, it is what it means to us personally that matters. My journey might not have been your journey. I hope for your sake that it hasn't been! But having said that, there are always folks worse off than yourself - people who have endured and suffered so much worse.

To all who have been hurt because they loved - I see you xxx
