Galen A. Smith Sr., a Kentucky Colonel, talks about the Bowling Green, Southcentral Ky., weather and "Mr. Jude," his Australian Shepherd. He also likes to sing karaoke along with his many other hobbies and interests. He makes videos about people, places & things too. Smith is a native of Memphis & moved to BG in 1988. He attended Ole Miss from 1982-87 where he majored in Print Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations & a minor in Sociology. Smith was a reporter for the Ole Miss Review in 1984 & a Senior Staff Writer, Contributing Writer & Entertainment Editor for The Daily Mississippian, the college student newspaper, from 85-87. Smith was also a former sports writer for the Logan Leader & News-Democrat in Russellville, Ky, in 1987. He was also a Staff Writer, Book Reviewer & Editorial Assistant for the BG (Ky) Daily News from 1990-95. He has a blog called, "A Critic From The South" & is ths host of the "Galen's World BG" podcast on the Podbean app. He is a widower & has a son.
