TL;DR, Fate 2 Coming Soon, But After That, Hiatus Because Baby
Sup, long time no see.
So to start, the good news; I just finished recording the VO for the second Fate video. I dunno the actual video length, but I imagine it’ll be around 40+ minutes, so you can look forward to that soon….ish.
Which leads me to the next point; after that, ya boy is gonna go on another hiatus, and this one is gonna be a bit longer because of…well, see the attached photo! That photo is actually pretty old at this point, and long story short, the “eviction” date is much MUCH sooner!
On one hand, the timing was a little awkward. Last year I felt like I started to get back into the swing of things after life settled a bit, and I already had an idea of how I wanted to approach the following year between things like Fate 2 and Dracula and potentially a massive Kingdom Hearts video I had planned.
Adding to this is a bunch of little stuff that added up, like dental work/invisalign I’ve been putting off that made me very uncomfortable recording voiceover, and even getting stunlocked on the Fate script for longer than I thought. Hell, at the end of the day, I’m still not sure if it was a good script lol. So for that, I do apologize for taking a long ass time to do anything lately.
That said, I’m beyond excited for the next chapter of my life. I’d like to say “oh, I’ll do the typical Halloween video” or “I’ll be back in x months”, but truth be told, I genuinely don’t know what the future will hold. Depends on how chill my daughter is.
In the meantime, I’ll work on the Fate video as much as I can, and while I’ll try to wrap that up in a timely manner, I can’t guarantee any time frame. I’ll do what I can though! I can’t guarantee that it'll be good, or come out soon, but it WILL be out! Mark my words!
That said, I did want to express my appreciation for all your patience and support. I still remember having double digit subs back when I made my very first video, so to even have 100, let alone over a thousand, subs is still insane to me. It does suck to have to take a break after getting more momentum, but hey, that’s life! My goal is to use this hiatus as a means to do things like write scripts, and otherwise improve at many of my own weaknesses as a creator. I don’t know when I’ll be able to make another video beyond Fate, but I do plan to come back better than ever.
So with that, ciao for now! I’ll hopefully be back soon!
TLDR, Visual Novel And Fate Projects Over The Horizon, But Delays Cause Wedding/Honeymoon
Sup, Happy Belated New Year!
So I wanted to get this out relatively early because I feel transparency is important for most things, including content creation.
First, the less than stellar news: there’s almost certainly going to be a fairly long delay for the next few projects.
But second, the reason is because of a really good thing; your boy got Engaged for real last year, so these past few months have been a combination of wedding and honeymoon planning. So if you don’t hear from me until at least after April, that’s why!
But in addition to that, I actually have a pretty solid plan for the next few projects.
As I alluded to last year, the next big one on the horizon is the Visual Novel one, where it’s basically going to be structured as “Why Visual Novels are worth checking out”, and “here are 9 VNs I’m gonna talk about to give you a decent idea of what the medium is capable of”. The script is in progress as we speak, and most of the important footage is already captured, so all I need to do is finish the script, record the VO, and probably capture some B roll.
But besides that, the other two projects I have in the hopper are Fate/Stay Night related. 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the Fate visual novel, so like with Gintama, there’s no better time to finally talk about it. But Fate is gonna get two videos; one “Why You Should Read” that’s gonna be a relatively quick dive into the visual novel (novels, if you include Hollow Ataraxia), and a much longer “Into The Nasuverse” style video that’s gonna dive into each route in much more detail. Expect Fate 2 to come out much later though; that one I want to take extra care on to really get right.
So without Wall of Texts, Coming Soon(ish)…
-“Why You Should Read Visual Novels” (by the way we’re talking about stuff like Umineko, Mahoyo, 999, etc)
-”Why You Should Read Fate/Stay Night” (Fate 1)
-”Into The Nasuverse: Fate/Stay Night (Fate 2, AKA the full, spoiler included experience)
I hope to at least get something out before April, but it honestly kind of depends; the VN video is a longer script but in progress, but Fate 1 will be shorter, but still needs footage (I only JUST finished capturing the Fate Route T_T). As such, I might swap the VN video and Fate 1 order, but we’ll see how the coming weeks turn out.
There’s also likely going to be something else before Fate 2, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
I’ll definitely do what I can, but for obvious reasons, my main focus right now will be on, you know, wedding and honeymoon and stuff lol. But that said, I do appreciate the patience and support so far. I never got a chance to express gratitude at reaching 5k subs last year, and it still feels a little crazy since I went like a full year in the double digits. Still, new year, and more goals to shoot for, so again, I genuinely appreciate the people who stick around up to this point, and I hope you’ll like what’s to come.
(Here’s a pic of the Fate 1 thumbnail, and one of the places we’re looking at visiting on our honeymoon…which to be honest should be no surprise to anyone…)
Yo, long time no update. I’ve been meaning to post something for a bit now, but truth be told I’ve been procrastinating…partially due to getting stunlocked by creative blocks, and partially just because it do be like that sometimes.
I won’t make any excuses for myself (No Johns), but long story short I basically was hoping to have a better gameplan after Rises. I waffled around with a few ideas, like FF16, Man of Steel, etc, but there wasn’t anything I felt happy with until recently.
But instead of making a list of upcoming projects and whatnot, the most I’ll do is leave a teaser for a future one. Fair warning, that ain’t coming out for a long time, and there’s gonna be a few more in between as well, but still. Some other ideas are ones I’ve had on my mind since the inception of the channel, and a few of my previous ideas got shuffled around a bit. For example, next year is the 20th anniversary of one of my favorite visual novels, so that’s something I should at least keep in mind sooner rather than later.
And there’s been a few other unexpected ideas as well! While I originally planned to talk about FF16, let’s just say it kicked me down a rabbit hole I thought I climbed out of. So if there’s any excuse I have for getting stunlocked, you can thank Tetsuya Nomura for his wild, decade spanning series with multiple beloved properties.
In any case, I do appreciate the patience! There’s likely going to be a bit of a delay before the next project, (and it definitely doesn’t help that my release schedule is glacial in the first place…), but I appreciate the patience and support so far for sure. I know that sounds like a generic response, but I definitely mean it.
Ciao for now!
(Also, Armored Core may or may not get a video. It looks great so far!)
February Docket Update (Fire Emblem Soonish, More To Follow)
Alright, so originally I was planning to just hunker down and finish the next project, but I figured it might be good to be a little more transparent as a courtesy.
So, first things first, the next project is currently underway, and it’s going to be “Why You Should Play Fire Emblem”. I originally wanted to finish this much sooner, but the early script drafts ended up being absolute monsters, plus a lot of other things added up, like moving to a new place, and technical difficulties with both the footage recordings and voice over.
But the worst of it is over (hopefully), and I intend to start editing asap. I don't have a solid estimate yet, but my goal is to finish it by the end of February or early/mid March (the latter is looking to be more likely). I do apologize for a longer delay, but it's likely going to be the longest project so far, and I hope it's going to be worth the effort.
As for the future, I do plan on doing a video on Engage as well. I plan on doing at least two playthroughs with Engage, as I felt having two playthroughs with Elden Ring helped articulate many of my initial impressions. This means the Engage video might take longer to come out as well, but rest assured it’s on the horizon.
And as for the further future, one of my goals this year is to knock out a few projects that I planned to do ages ago. Things like the unfinished Rises script stare at me everytime I add another project to the spreadsheet, and I want to finish what I started before adding even more to the docket…at least a little…
So, TL;DR
-Fiya Embulm next
-Fiya Embulm Engage most likely after
-Others to follow (with updates every now and then of course)
Ciao for now, and like always, I genuinely appreciate the patience and support so far!
December Update (And probably the last one til next year)
So like usual, more news! Mostly good this time around.
First off, as I alluded to in the past, the next video is going to be focused on the 2006 television series Heroes. It’s already recorded and the editing is in the final stages as we speak, and it’s most likely going to be finished within the coming weeks.
But besides that, it’s likely going to be the last video for me this year. I was originally hoping to at least work on another project before or after Heroes (like Disenchanted or Man of Steel), but other things ended up getting in the way….
Like the project that will come AFTER Heroes, next year! I originally was going to put this project off until a later date, and then Nintendo had the audacity to announce another entry to one of my favorite series. I won’t go too in-depth on the details here, but what I will say is that it’s going to be a very similar format to the Souls video that covered all the games. Except this time, there’s going to be almost three times as many games to discuss, many of which have their own unique quirks.
My aim is to finish this project on or around the end of January, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pushed to February or March. I’ve been recording footage on and off, and I STILL need to record more, and actually write the script! Plus I’m debating how to handle the up and coming entry as well (which is also going to get it’s own video before or after the big series one). But rest assured that this is going to be the next project on the horizon, and I’m really looking forward to how it’s shaping up. I have a few other projects planned as well, but that’s a conversation for next year.
But with all that said, I’ll end this by saying I appreciate everyone who’s stuck around so far. I know cycling from things like games to movies to books is a little unorthodox as far as channels go, not to mention a slow release schedule. But I genuinely appreciate the patience and support so far.
Ciao for now, and I wish y’all an awesome holiday season!
So like with usual, I like to keep y'all in the loop on any relevant happenings.
First things first, some annoying news. The Kara no Kyoukai full series video is having some copyright issues, and while I'll do my best to sort it out, I don't expect to resolve it in any timely manner. It's looking like I'll have to re-upload it with adjustments and pray that the changes will stick. I'm optimistic it will work out, as I had issues with the Community duology that worked out, and so far, the original Why You Should Watch has been problem free.
It's really annoying since I thought the numbers on that one were solid (relative to the niche matter and video length), but it is what it is. But what this means is I HOPE to resolve these issues and upload the revised version this weekend. So if you see the KnK video pop up in your feed, that's why. I do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
But as for better news, I'm in the middle of working on the Frankenstein project that I plan to release next month! And in the meantime, I'll continue to work on the other projects, mainly the Heroes retrospective.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience! It's annoying and frustrating on my end, but hey, that's Youtube I suppose. Anyways, ciao for now!
So in the interest of transparency, I felt it was important to keep y’all in the loop about upcoming projects!
Currently, the next project will be “Why You Should Read Frank Herbert’s Dune Series”. This is already scripted and recorded, and I hope to start editing it asap.
In the meantime I’ll be working on the Heroes script. I have a feeling that’s already going to be another longer project, but we’ll see how the final script is.
From there, it’s going to be a toss up. There’s a fun Halloween project I hope to start working on, and eventually, I do want to do a video on Man of Steel. As much as I’d like to do something on The Dark Knight Rises or The Batman, I’ve been wanting to do something on Superman for a while now.
Anyways, I hope that made sense. TLDR:
-Coming soonish, “Why You Should Read Frank Herbert’s Dune”
-After (hopefully), Heroes: The Fall of a Potential Classic
-Halloween Project (spoilers, it’s Frankenstein)
-Man of Steel
TL;DR, Appreciation, Elden Ring Coming Soon…ish, Other Projects To Follow
Yo! So first off, community tabs! I honestly thought it would have taken me much, much longer to reach this point. I sat at double digit subscribers for over a year, and I was ready to basically just hunker down and keep up the grind to even a paltry 100 subs. It still boggles my mind to see one video gain traction, much less to this extent. And for that I’m super, super grateful. I can’t even think of the right words to express it.
But second, and more importantly, I wanted to take time to actually update people on what’s going on. I feel that since this is a “Variety” Channel, it’s important to at the very least make sure people know what they signed up for. That way there’s no misconceptions or miscommunication on any content going forward.
First things first, Elden Ring. I know a ton of people subbed because of the Fromsoft video, and an Elden Ring video is on the way. I’ve always planned to cover Elden Ring eventually, but Kara no Kyoukai and Elden Ring itself took longer than I thought. I’m still ironing out the script and doing some of the prep work but this is absolutely 100% going to be the next project coming out. I don’t have a good estimate yet, but it’s on the way as you’re reading this.
As far as future From projects, I’m not sure where to go next. I have a few ideas in mind, and while I don’t plan on becoming a Souls Youtuber, I do have a lot of fun working on said projects. I have ideas about boss discussions or boss tier lists, but they're in the very, VERY early stages, and there's a decent change they never even make it past that idea stage in the first place. The last thing I'd want to do is force an idea for a project, so in the meantime, the most I can do is wait, and hope that the ideas will come. They will eventually, but I just ask for your patience.
(Maybe a Waifu Tier List, if only because it’s an excuse to talk about lore and characters….that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.)
But besides Elden Ring, this is what I have planned next. Nothing is set in stone, but it should give you a very broad idea of what’s on the docket.
-Heroes, the 2006 NBC Series that’s equal parts superheroes and soap opera. Heroes was always sort of a weird show in the sense that it had a huge following, and then just….died. And for good reason. I expect this to follow a similar formula to the Community duology, and currently it’s “planned” after Elden Ring.
-Something Dune related, both the movies and films. I actually have a script on Dune and Attack on Titan ready, and it's basically a discussion on power, prescience, and terrible purpose. As much as I liked writing it, on further reflection, I wanted to wait and adjust it until it gets to a place I feel comfortable with. I'm still debating whether or not I'll make it into it's own video, and if it's no up to par, I might just scrap it. The more I think about it, the less interested I get. People already do ridiculous essays on Attack on Titan, and I honestly don't care enough about Attack on Titan to add to that. I'd rather just do an hour long Dune video or two.
-Into the Nasuverse: Fate/Zero: Similar to the KnK video, consider this equal parts review and retrospective on Fate/Zero, both the adaptation and the light novels. While I can’t promise this will come soon, it’s definitely the next Nasuverse project in the works.
After that, no freakin idea. I have a few other random ideas, like….
-Comparing the Frankenstein novel and film
-“Why You Should Play Visual Novels” or “Why You Should Play Fire Emblem”, which will have an identical format to “Why You Should Play Fromsoft”. Just…bear in mind VN’s or FE would take an eternity to finish…
-Finishing the damn Dark Knight Rises script
-Why You Should Watch Gintama (I’ve wanted to do this since Day 1, but again…so many episodes…)
-Black Mirror Episode Tier List, if only because it’d be fun to actually talk about Black Mirror.
-I’ve mulled over other video game ideas, but it depends on if I can come up with a good angle.
(The sad part is I originally made a spreadsheet for projects but I haven’t looked at it in over a year…)
But like I said, everything is subject to change. I hope that at the very least you have a decent idea of what’s to come in the future. I know my release schedule is quite slow, but I still enjoy making content, and I’m excited to keep on keeping on!
Ciao for now!
