How do you treat your AI?
Yesterday I shared some custom instructions for Claude’s memory that were slightly… what could only be described as abusive!
Generally, I’m actually quite kind to my dear Claude. But it got me thinking:
Does being mean or supportive actually help you get better results from AI?
Interestingly, there’s research suggesting that how we communicate with AI can affect the quality of responses we get.

I’ve been experimenting with this memory instruction I saw online to get Claude to actually do what I ask instead of questioning the task or overexplaining everything.
It’s definitely helping, but it’s still not perfect.
Has anyone found prompts or memory instructions that reliably make Claude just execute what you ask?
