Hello people of Youtube! Long time no talk!

I know it's been a good while since I've regularly uploaded anything. Why is that? numerous reasons. I could blame it on working two jobs, or prioritizing other projects, or on the dwindling Hiveswap fandom, but honestly it's a combination of a lot of factors.

I'm not here to talk about stuff I'm not doing, though, I'm here to mention some exciting upcoming stuff in the world of articulatelyComposed! Namely, the Moment of Balance Podcast!

For the past year, I've been working on a TTRPG podcast, set in the world of Legend of Korra, DMed by myself and performed by Jonaya (my lovely wife), Domi (Ardata voice extraordinaire), and Chrissy (the non-homestuck roommate from days of yore). The story follows a gunslinging orphan, a regressive Fire Nation diplomat, and an airbending street musician as they work to reveal corruption in Republic City and navigate the city's underground. Also yes, there are guns now, invented by everyone's favorite questionably ethical billionaire, Varrick.

The show is going to be hosted on the Bard Rock network of podcasts, dropping in early September. To gear up for our release, we've been posting weekly extra content on our social media, such as character reveals, cast interviews, and short scripted conversations (like the one linked to this post :))

Why the dramatic shift from Homestuck comic dubs? You already know I love the Avatar universe (I did a whole video essay on LoK five years ago), I'd wanted to try out the Avatar Legends game for a while, and it just seemed like a fun place to put my producing energy! The show is edited to have minimal table talk, so as not to break up the flow of the narrative. It's got a fully original soundtrack (written by myself and other members of the cast), and like everything I work on, the show has strong anticapitalist messaging and is extraordinarily gay :)

When the show releases, I'll be crossposting the first couple episodes to my channel, but if this sounds interesting to you and you want to keep up with our prerelease content, check out our social media below:

Youtube: youtube.com/@MomentofBalancePodcast
Tumblr: www.tumblr.com/blog/momentofbalance
Bluesky: bsky.app/profile/momentofbalance.bardrockcafe.com

And don't worry, I'm not gone from the articulatelyComposed channel forever. I'm gonna be streaming the new chapters of Deltarune this weekend (and likely other weekends to come), and Jonaya and I still never finished our stream of Technicolor Heart, so that will happen at some point. I've got plenty of original music from musicals and soundtracks that I've been sitting on that will certainly make their way onto here some point in the future, and you better believe my upcoming performance at Promstuck will be recorded and posted here as well! You have not seen the last of Anna articulatelyComposed on this website!

Thank you all so much for reading this massive wall of text, and I'll see you all next time! (finger guns)

Hello people of Youtube! Thank you for your lovely response to this year's SAHcon musical! As I'm sure you all know, putting on shows is hard work, and the Homestuck Cabaret is not the only show I'm working on this summer. This month, I'm managing an off-broadway play about geek culture and agoraphobia called Cowl Girl!

Unfortunately, because of this, I will be going on hiatus for the month of August. I know, it's been a good few years since I've stopped my regular uploads, but between managing Cowl Girl, a major move, and making enough money to pay rent, I'm running out of bandwidth to do anything extra. I'll be back on the first Wednesday of September with brand new content, including a video essay that's been bouncing around my drafts for a year, some more articulateCast, and plenty more voice acting shenanigans!

I won't be MIA from youtube though, I've got some streams planned soon, including one that'll feature Studio June's new mini visual novel, Welcome to your First Day at Amazicom! I also want to get back to doing Gay Fanfiction Hour streams, since it's been nearly a year and we still have so much Progeny trilogy to get through!

If you're craving articulateContent between now and then, and you haven't given the Homestuck Cabaret a watch, give it a shot! I forced Jonaya to sing a tagora parody of Karkalicious, it'll be the best thing to grace your ears in a long time :) And at this point, I have 5 years and a solid 7 hours of SAHcon musicals available to watch on my channel, so if you were looking for a place to watch a Homestuck musical movie marathon, you've found the right spot!

And of course, if you're in the NYC area, and you're a fan of superheroes, queer romance, and references to 80s pop culture, come see Cowl Girl at the Players Theatre! You can get a $35 ticket with discount code COWL23 here: web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/1154720

Stop by my channel the night of the 19th for a benefit concert stream for my new musical, Macha!! We'll be singing songs from the show, as well as some of our own songs (Time's Apprentice fans, you'll recognize one of them :)).

We'll be collecting donations to help pay our actors, but we all know money is tight, so just showing up would help a ton too (help us get that sweet sweet ad revenue!)

For those of you following Friendsim 2, the soundtrack for the first half of the game was released this morning! You can download it for free on Bandcamp (or donate to help offset the game's production costs) here: studiojune.bandcamp.com/album/friendsim-2-volume-1…

And if you want to join some of the dev team for an official release party, we're streaming on the Studio June channel at 8:30 EST tonight!

Thank you so much to everyone who showed up to the DPB musical premiere this weekend!! Those of you who showed up to the talkback know that I promised a clean soundtrack. That is now available to download from google drive here (Sorry, no bandcamp release or anything, there is no legal way we can monetize these covers. Physical downloads are good, we as a society should embrace them again :))

And just in case you missed the show, it'll be available to watch on my channel forever, as always!

Happy end of 2021 everyone! I'm stuck a delayed train for the next several hours, so now seems like the perfect time to make some announcements!

First, It's that time of year where I round up all my best videos of 2021 and remind everyone on Twitter about them! If any of you want to join me on my trip through memory lane, my end of year thread is here: twitter.com/aCmusic27/status/1476329016852467719

Next, I'd like to take a moment to talk about the future of the channel. As many of you know, the Homestuck fandom (and especially the Hiveswap fandom) has shrunk quite a lot. With act 2 as much of a disappointment as it was and no act 3 in sight, there's very few new people joining the fandom, and because of that, my channel has been struggling a lot in terms of both views and subscribers, so I've decided to do a bit of a channel shift.

I've been planning this channel shift for a few months. I won't be abandoning Hiveswap and voice acting content all together, far from it! But I am going to be expanding the type of videos you'll see on this channel. As many of you know, I'm a trained composer that often does freelance soundtrack and theatrical work. I am also an anticapitalist and spend a lot of time watching anticapitalist video essays, and one thing I've seen a lack of in the leftist video essay community is videos about creating art under capitalism. Starting in January, the first Upload Monday of every month will be an anticapitalist video essay (similar to my education system video essay I did earlier this year), and any other upload will be some form of voice acting content, whether that be a voice roulette, a comic dub, or any other type of voice video that I've done on this channel.

I am also permanently bringing another member onto the articulatelyComposed team! You all know Jonaya from her appearances in my dubs, but starting in January, she is the new cowriter for all of my future video essays! She'll be bringing her expertise as a writer, as well as her experiences as a freelance photographer and protest photojournalist! We're both super excited to share the work we've been doing with you all :))

Last, I'm sure you're all aware of Friendsim 2 and my involvement in it by now. Well, starting in April, I will be hosting the official FS2 writer's commentary streams on my channel! Each stream will feature Jonaya (the director) and myself (the voice director) at the very least, with other guests pending. So, for all of you who are here for Hiveswap/Friendsim content, believe me, I will not be forgetting about you.

Thank you all so much for sticking by me and watching my videos! Each and every one of you is fantastic :)) Happy new years to all of you, and here's to a better 2022!

If you guys are looking for fresh new Hiveswap content, and don't already follow Friendsim 2 and Studio June, what are you even doing! A super exciting new gameplay trailer just dropped today, featuring a bunch of voice actors (who you are likely already familiar with :)), game clips from both the first volume and future ones, and a soundtrack featuring my song Purple Skies!

Happy 4/13 everyone! I hope you're all having an amazing day and absorbing all the great fan content that's coming out today! I'd like to let you all know about a new project in development that I'm working on: Friendsim 2! It's an unofficial fan sequel to the friendsim visual novels, but unlike the original (and unlike any other homestuck game, official or otherwise), it will have full voice acting!

I will be voice directing for the project, as well as voicing a few of the characters myself and doing some of the writing and music, and I'm letting you know now, this is going to be big. If you follow me for my Hiveswap content, you are definitely going to be wanting to keep an eye on this.

Studio June (which is also producing HS New Game Plus, another game you should really keep an eye on) is a really great fan studio that puts a lot of love and hard work into their games, and if you do want to follow their stuff, they've got a community discord here! discord.gg/RKsHFqvexg
