ive just fully fathomed how so many people have never got the chance to even realise they were talented, let alone grow into it. not because they lacked ambition but because life blocked every path before it even started. war, corrupt governments, being forced to leave home, trying to survive in a place where you do not even speak the language… all of that kills the potential

there are people who carry skills, creativity and intelligence in the way they speak, think and move, but it stays hidden because nobody ever gave them the space or resources to use it. their lives were forcefully shaped by fear, loss and responsibilities that came too early. trauma ends up sitting embedded in every corner of their mind and almost anything they see or hear reminds them of it.

and the worst is that these are not rare cases. whole generations have been pushed out of their own countries as teenagers with no family, no support and no realistic choice. they had to start over in places that did not recognise their ability or give them the time to prove themselves. history never records the artist who became a factory worker, or the young prodigy who ended up doing translation for their parents instead of studying, or the engineer who was treated like they were uneducated just because they did not speak the language.

it is painful because so much potential is basically buried under circumstance. not gone, just unseen. and the world acts like survival alone is the whole story, when really it is survival mixed with the loss of who they could have become. it is not fair and it never has been, and the worst part is how normalised it is, which genuinely just hurts my heart, especially since I can see it in my own parents.
