I'm Johnny, i don't like needless fluff in videos, unless absolutely called for. Some videos will be deeper dives and those are going to have the extra stuff not everyone wants. Others are going to be very utilitarian videos that will hit directly to the root of an issue, education on how to cut a cigar, how to pack a pipe, how to clean a pipe, etc...

Day 3 of my 30 day experiment to see how this Meerschaum colors from unsmoked to whatever we get. At the point of this photo i've got 16 smokes in on it and you can see a soft yellow coloring just barely visible. I didnt notice it myself yesterday but others pointed it out. Today I can definitely see a slight color change.
Looking forward to seeing how this goes. When all is said and done i'll probably end up posting a videl on youtube about the process.

DAY 1: I am gonna do something fun over on Instagram. I have this unsmoked MBSD Pipes reverse calabash figural Block Meerschaum and i'm gonna do a 30 day challenge. This will be the only pipe i smoke for the next 30 days and we're gonna see how she colors. We're starting fresh today, this is it completely unsmoked Should be fun to see how much of a patina we can put on her. 😊

Reverse Calabash pipes are fun specifically because of that large open chamber in the back where the stem inserts. The idea is that smoke can swirl around in their and cool down before it bites your tongue. Now Meerschaum already provides a cooler smoke, so a reverse calabash Meerschaum is like double dipping in the cooling your smoke options, and the very best smokes are cool smokes. So this should be a real treat!! 😊😊

My carry today. An MBSD basic briar, a vintage zippo, BigIDesign Pen and a HigoNoKami traditional Japanese folder poket knife. Hank is a Kimagi, and a Tomex expedition on the wrist. Literally, the pen is the most expensive item. Here, got it for $65, because i'm a Pen need! 😆 🤣

My carry today.
Pipe is an old estate pipe, a vintage 'Crest Select', Made in London England. (You might recognize it from the video on restoring an old pipe)
Vintage @originalzippo , & a vintage Shakespear brass tamper from Astley's of England, then a solid Buck Canoe with burl handle on one of my favorite Kimagi hanks. Watch is a new one, the Spitfire Lock Chronograph from AV-8. Love the bronze finish.
Keep scrolling and you'll see a Brass Bigidesign pen, its got a Jetstream Prime 0.7mm refill in it, so its just a blast to draw with.

The Echo is finally gone. Every single reel/video i recorded in this basement took a lot of work to get rid of that damnablw echo. So thats nice.
Next up, getting some drywall in here and putting it up, then mudding, sanding, then installing outlets and painting, then sealing the floor properly.. not all necessarily in that order.
All you folks up in the great white north have to do a lot of crazy things to seal a basement up that we, down here in the Lead Belt of South Missouri, don't have to do. Gonna have a proper YouTube space when its done
More to do... more to come.. too much to do and not enough time.

That pipe is a vintage GBD Conquest. The Conquest was a line of 'larger' pipes that GBD made. The oval shank and saddle stem should make it a lumberman shape i think. But the vulcanite is almost long enough to just call it a modified billiard. Pipe shapes can be hard to quantify.
No matter how you shake it, its a good smoker.
My luck zippo there has a Thunderbird Soft flame Butane pipe insert from Vector. That means I get to use a zippo, without that taste. That tamper is a vintage silver tamper from Astleys of England. The knife is a vintage Keen Kutter. Not sure exactly the age, but my estimations from what I can tell is between 1910 and 1920. Its fantastic, and while it isnt the one my grandpa carried, its a mirror image of that one which is why I was so excited to find it.

My carry today. A little Molina Devil Anse. Molina makes some of the best 9mm pipes out there, inexpensive too. Solid choice for a daily knock around pipe.
Vintage brass zippo. (Soft flame butane insert with no taste, not zippo fluid.) That stick with the brass caps is a spinstick fidget. Absolutely a blast. And a canoe Buck with some gorgeous burl.

I love the white here! So fun. 😆 🤣. I finally got that Tactis Stormtrooper knife Stupidly solid built knife for $60. I love how hearty it is. That massive Meerschaum pipe us from Mbsdpipes, love that big bowl and shape. A zippo (with a butane soft flame insert, no taste) of course, a titanium Olight, on a Kimagi Hank, oh and a new watch A Berny Titanium Quartz field watch i picked up. Solid watch for like $68. A++

Pipe from mbsdpipes, leather cases zippo, brass bigidesign bolt action (for proper fidget fun and writing style) and that Limited edition Scrimshaw Wesn knife, and a Kimagi Hankà. (This one is my favorite too, the faux leather look 🤌🤌🤌). The watch is a vintage mechanical Raketa, (Superb watch).
