The Vahana of Goddess Durga as we see with her is the lion. In Hindu iconography, positive aspects of the vehicle are often emblematic of the deity that it carries. Nandi the bull, vehicle of Shiva, represents strength and virility. Parvani the peacock, vehicle of Skanda, represents splendor and majesty. The hamsa, vehicle of Saraswati, represents wisdom, grace and beauty.
However, the vehicle animal also symbolizes the evil forces over which the deity dominates. Mounted on Parvani, Skanda reins in the peacock's vanity. Seated on Mushika, Ganesh crushes useless thoughts, which multiply like rats in the dark. Lord Shani, protector of property and Lord of justice, has a vulture, raven or crow in which he represses thieving tendencies. Under Shani's influence, the Vahana can make even malevolent events bring hope.
According to the Puranas while the Gods gave Devi Maa the different weapons to slay Mahishasura , it is the mountain King Himavat who gave her a lion to ride on. The Vahana of Maa Durga is known by different names like Kesari, Somnandi and Dawon. The lion is a symbol of uncontrolled animalistic tendencies (such as anger, arrogance, selfishness, greed, jealousy, desire to harm others etc.) and Devi sitting on it reminds us to control these qualities, so that we are not controlled by them.
Durga is the Goddess of power or the supreme energy (Shakti) and Lion or Tiger are like embodiments of power which are controlled by the Goddess. There are different stories of devi getting the lion as the vahana. As per another legend, once Devi Parvati being called kali by Mahadev started meditating in a forest to gain her Mahagauri Swaroop . While she was meditating , a lion came by in order to eat her but when the lion saw it was Devi, he started guarding her so that no one could disturb her. After Devis tapas was over, she blessed the lion to be her vehicle who guarded her out of devotion.✨🕉🍃🌼🌈👁🌷🏔🍂🔱💟💀🍃🌙📿⌛️🌺🍂🐍🐚🔆🍃🌀🔔🌈🍂🌸🌻🏔✨

The Chaitra Navratri will begin on April 2; the following nine days, till April 11, holds immense religious significance in Hinduism. Chaitra navratri falls in the month of Chaitra according to the Hindu calendar which corresponds to March-April as per the Gregorian calendar.
Navratri is a festival, spanning over 9 days in which nine goddesses are worshipped-Shailaputri or Pratipada, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri, Siddhidhatri. There are four seasonal navratris observed in India, out of which two: Chaitra and Sharad navratris are celebrated the most.
During the Navratri, people abstain from alcohol and non-veg food items and eat sattvik food. People also abstain from the consumption of onion and garlic during this period. Temples and religious places are decorated for devotees to come and offer their prayers to the goddesses. Each day of the Navratri holds a different significance.
Devotees perform rituals and pujas as per Hindu astrology. The Chaitra Navratri will be observed from April 2, 2022 to April 11, 2022. The Ashtami of the Chaitra Navratri, which is considered to be the most important day of ritual, falls on the 8th day of the Navratri which is on April 9. The Chaitra Navratri ends with Ram Navami which is the birthday Shri Vishnu's seventh avatar, Lord Rama.🍃🔱🌺💟🌻🌷📿🔔🍂🌸🕉🔱🍃🌼🌺📿🔔💟🌻🔱🌸🍂🌷🕉🍃🌼🌷🔱

Lord Kartikeya’s other name, Shadanana, which means ‘one with six heads’ corresponds to the five senses and the mind. The six heads also stand for his virtues enables him to see in all the directions - an important attribute that ensures that he counters all kinds blows that can hit him.

The war imagery and the six heads of Kartikeya indicates that if humans wish to lead themselves efficiently through the battle of life, they must always be alert lest they are shown the wrong path by crafty people with the six demonic vices: kaama (lust)), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), moha (passion), mada (ego) and matsarya (jealousy).

Kartikeya carries on one hand a spear and his other hand is always blessing devotees. His vehicle is a peacock, a pious bird that grips with its feet a serpent, which symbolizes the ego and desires of people. The peacock represents the destroyer of harmful habits and the conqueror of sensual desires. The symbolism of Kartikeya thus points to the ways and means of reaching perfection in life!!
