St. Brigid’s Day, also celebrated as Imbolc, takes places on February 1 in Ireland. The holiday has its origins as an ancient Irish festival that welcomes the first stirrings of spring. Traditionally, it’s a time of renewal, light returning, creativity, healing, and protection. Homes were warmed by the hearth, Brigid’s crosses were woven, and cloaks were left out overnight to receive blessings for the year ahead.
