Hello everyone!

I hope you’re having a restful summer, whether you’re visiting family, traveling abroad, or simply taking some time to relax.

Or perhaps taking a minute to think about our oceans, which currently have the equivalent of a garbage truck full of plastic dumped into them every minute. This pollution, ranging from massive debris to microscopic particles, impacts marine life across the globe. Additionally, plastic pollution does not only impact sea life, it also carries toxic pollutants into the food chain – a food chain including us humans.

That’s where The Ocean Cleanup comes in.

The Ocean Cleanup is a global nonprofit with a goal of removing 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040. They work toward this mission by removing legacy pollution from ocean garbage patches, intercepting plastic before it reaches the ocean through rivers, and advocating for stronger international regulations. You can learn more on their website (theoceancleanup.com/).

When I learned about The Ocean Cleanup, I couldn’t believe it. As a kid from New Orleans who had witnessed the effects of plastic pollution—from seeing sea turtles harmed by plastic waste to finding litter scattered along the shores of local waterfront parks—it was inspiring to discover an initiative dedicated to addressing this issue. What stood out to me most was their focus specifically on cleaning up existing pollution, a part of the plastic crisis that has often been overshadowed by preventing plastic from entering marine ecosystems in the first place.

I decided to get involved, something The Ocean Cleanup made easy. Through their website, anyone can start a fundraiser to support their mission. I chose to do just that, and it’s the reason I’m posting this today.

If you can, I would appreciate your support. Any donation, big or small, funds The Ocean Cleanup’s efforts to remove plastic from our oceans. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser with friends and family makes a meaningful difference.

Together, we can protect our oceans for future generations and take one step toward a cleaner, healthier planet. Thanks for your support!

IT’S FINALLY OUT!!!

Watch the 2nd video of my MBTA trilogy on Slay It by Vedant Ramesh. In this 3 part series, I do a complete breakdown of the MBTA and its various types of transportation, from local public transit in Boston, to the commuter rail, ferries, busses, and even an overview on fares, in an effort to make moving to Boston and being a tourist in Boston easy for people looking to do either of those things, just as I was 11 months ago (can’t believe it’s been that long already!!!) when I moved to Boston. You can check out part 2 here, where I talk about the silver line and the commuter rail: https://youtu.be/UT1DY--CAUA?si=IMHiZ...

Make sure to like, share, and subscribe to give me that final push to 1k subscribers! Also make sure to look out for part 3, where I’ll be covering ferries, busses, and fares in the MBTA.
