Due to YouTube's music and copyright standards, I decided to update the intro for the channel. I had to find free public domain music and decided to shorten the intro as well. What do you think of this as an intro?
More than six months in the making, the episode addressing the problems in the Relatable interview with Lisa Bevere is complete and scheduled for release today at 1 pm.
I would like to express my gratitude to all of you who have prayed for me during this time.
This was a hard episode to produce, but it has helped me truly KNOW the reason why God (through His written word) has repeatedly called His people to avoid false teachers. And I believe your prayers and God's grace are why I pressed on when I really wanted to avoid it like the plague ;).
Because the Gospel MATTERS. Do we trust in what God has done and will do? Or do we trust in what we have done and will do? Change what faith IS and you change what we put faith IN. What we put our faith in not only determines how we walk in this side of eternity, but also where we reside when we are brought into eternity.
So thank you! I praise God for your prayers and the spiritual support He has given me through them. And now I pray that what God has done for me, He does for others as well.
Hey Ladies! Got a friend of the family visiting for the week, so no video. Which is probably a blessing cause I am wrestling (mentally) with all the stuff I've learned about the Bevere's ministry and teachings.
I am working on the next one, where I present more about what Lisa and John Bevere teach. There is just so much, and I have so many clips, that I'm not sure how to organize them in a cohesive manner. Pics provided are just the first 5 pages of an 8 pg doc. I will be adding more as I am still researching. I have a great burden to do this right, and for good reason.
Since my last episode on Lisa, I have received comments and emails from people who have read or listened to some of their teachings.
Would you pray for them? Please pray for all who are discipled in one way or another by them. After researching them, I can completely see why they listen to them. There is a zeal for God that appeals to Christians who desperately want to do God's will. There is a confidence in them that can make us believe God is really speaking to them. And there is just enough knowledge of Scripture that can convince us to trust the messenger. A lot of their resources are now free through their Messenger International app, showing that they have a desire to see people "live the victorious Christian life" without monetary gain, making the trust bond grow deeper.
Please pray for wisdom and discernment. For them...and for me.
Over the last couple of days, I have been convicted about my prayer life.
I have found that I pray more for myself than I do for others, and I repent.
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working (James 5:13-16).
If you were wondering about this week's episode... Since I watched the whole Gather25 Global church gathering, I figured I would give you my assessment of it all. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Took this week to go through it all. Lord willing, I will have that out next Monday. Lot's to cover... ;)
God bless you guys, and I hope to see you next week!
Hey Ladies, Thoroughly Equipped has been entered into a podcast competition held by the Dead Men Walking Podcast on X. If you are on X would you take a minute and vote for the podcast? Wanted to get your opinion. Wanting to do a series on what Biblical Womanhood is and what it means to be a woman. So I thought I'd look into 2 teachers that focus on this subject: Stasi Eldredge and Lisa Bevere. Why these two? One is very self esteem, positive psychology oriented, while the other is very female empowered, charismatic, extra-biblical revelation oriented. What do you think?
No episode this week as I am taking a posting break during the holidays. I am working on the next message review which will be given by Ruth Cho-Simons. But until then I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and am wishing you all a happy New Years!
Working on clips for the next episode.
Reviewing a message given by proclaimed "Spiritual Mother" of women's ministry, Beth Moore.
Preparing to hypothetically "step on a few manicured toes"...
