Russian Classics is your space for encountering Russian literature, poetry, music, and art with depth and attention.
Here, we return to writers, poets, painters, and composers such as Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Gogol, Lermontov, Bulgakov, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and we reflect on them as thinkers and artists shaped by conscience, love, suffering, faith, and moral choice.
I share short reflections on their lives and works, clarify cultural context often lost outside Russia, and return to the lines, images, and melodies that generations have carried by heart.
You will also find Russian poetry read aloud in the original language, with English translations and subtitles, so the sound, rhythm, and meaning can be felt together.
If this way of reading and listening resonates with you, you are very welcome to stay.

Many Russians know Pushkin by heart. Not just one line, but many.
And it isn’t about school or exams.
In this short, I reflect on why Pushkin is memorized, and why his lines stay for life.

Russian Classics
I am back to posting new videos. My plans are 3 shorts per week and 1 long-form video every 2 weeks. You know that this channel is my hobby, as I LOVE reading and learning about my mother culture. But sometimes I just have too much work in my usual life, that hobbies need to be set aside.
Hopefully, I will have enough discipline to create my videos and share them with you.
For today, check what 5 winter poems of Pushkin every Russian (at least from my generation 😊) knows and easily recognises.

If you do not speak Russian but have ever wanted to learn by heart a Russian classical love poem, now you have this opportunity!
Watch the story of one of the most famous Russian poems, "I Loved You..." by Alexander Pushkin, and learn it with me by following my reading, supported by English transcription and translation.
Hope you enjoy it!
