Tonight’s stream was genuinely one of the most irritating streams I’ve done in a long time.

Viewer numbers were rough tonight, which happens sometimes when bigger streamers are on the game and the category gets swallowed up a bit. It is what it is. I’m still massively grateful to the people who do show up and support the streams and I’ve been steadily growing over time, which honestly means a lot to me, so thank you.

The actual problem tonight was the gameplay.

Jesus H Christ.

Almost every match felt like a complete disaster because SBMM apparently decided I needed to fight the top 2% of humanity while my team looked like they’d won their controllers in a raffle.

The thing is, I genuinely do not care that much about winning. I know people will read this and go “sounds like you do” but if you actually know me, you know I care way more about whether the game is fun.

Fun is not always winning either. I do not care about KDR or where I place on the scoreboard. I care about having good gunfights, tense moments, funny deaths, chaotic nonsense and matches that actually feel enjoyable to play.

Right now the game feels actively designed to punish you for being decent at it, which is exactly why I hated playing COD 2019 after a while.

One good match immediately gets followed by several matches where the enemy team are playing like they’re defending the Pentagon while my team are just potatoes with legs and I’m somehow expected to hold lanes, cap flags and emotionally support the squad at the same time.

It’s exhausting. Truly.

And honestly, part of why tonight got to me so much is because real life is already stressful enough right now.

My landlord is evicting me, not because I’m a bad tenant, but because they “don’t want to rent anymore” and are “liquidating their assets” which sounds less like housing and more like I accidentally signed a tenancy agreement with a hedge fund.

I had two months to find somewhere else, which ended on the 10th of May. Not exactly loads of time when rent already eats over half my income and I still have to keep paying it while trying to somehow magically afford moving somewhere else at the same time.

9+ years of paying rent on time and doing what was asked of me, being a good person and never causing trouble for nothing..

Most places around me are wildly out of budget and the ones that are affordable suddenly develop a Victorian era fear of cats or act like not having a traditional full time job means I’m about to start forging passports in the kitchen.

So yeah, I’ve been stressed out of my mind lately, and gaming is one of the few constants I have. It’s familiar, it’s reliable, it helps me switch my brain off for a bit.

And we are not even getting into the netcode issues either. Getting killed after I’m already behind cover by ghost bullets in 2026 is insane. I thought DICE fixed this in the last patch?

The game desperately needs a proper infantry only mode too because dealing with tanks and jets every five seconds gets old fast.

Ironically, I literally made an infantry only conquest mode myself and in classic universe fashion absolutely nobody cared. Outstanding. Fantastic. Love that for me 🙃

Golmud is weird because sometimes it’s brilliant and chaotic in a fun way, and other times it’s just:

“Congratulations. You spawned into an open field and got hit by three vehicles and a jet before your character finished inhaling oxygen.”

I do really like the new guns and attachments this season though. I just wish the TTK felt more like BF2042 where positioning and skill could actually let you win a 3v1 instead of every fight feeling like a lottery system sponsored by packet loss and divine intervention.

I genuinely thought this patch was bringing over more of the Labs changes because during testing the gunplay actually felt great. The recoil changes in the final build are not even my main issue honestly, but the fire rate balancing absolutely needs work.

The game should feel more like:

“The KV9 melts up close but turns into a garden hose at 40 metres.”

Instead of:

“You have been instantly converted into red mist from across the map by a guy vibrating behind a head glitch.”

Maybe I’m crashing out over this stupid game. Maybe I just need something else to play entirely.

Sorry for ending the stream early.

I just couldn't keep playing, I have had a pretty ok day, and the games weren't the best but that shit happens.

I just, idk, I just felt overwhelmingly negative and needed to get off.

I like the game, I can just see the problems it has and how DICE just seems complacent in allowing it to slowly turn into a pretty bland game.

I'm not easily bored, I loved 2042 and I never got bored of it, the movement was nice and the specialists were a welcome change to the drudgery of stale classes, I want something that will draw me in and keep me playing because it's a good experience, not constantly fighting against low effort low skill players who think being the best player is using the easiest guns in the game.

I can see what battlefield needs to get better, I know what changes need to come, but I'm just a nobody in the grand scheme of things and I just wish the videos I put time and effort into actually got the views they need to be noticed by the Devs.

The games guns need a drastic rebalance, especially if the movement system is going to stay the same and not change at all, or get slower to help bad players feel better about themselves.

The skill ceiling in this game is currently a skill carpet because of how low it is, if you want to excel, you need to use the SCW10, that's it. You don't need to have good movement, positioning or anything like that, you just need one gun, I get that a lot of the major fans of this franchise are nearing 40 and that most will have full time jobs and families, but catering a game to a demographic who think the good old days were fucking take that and baggy jeans is moronic.

The game needs one of two things.
Weapon rebalancing, specifically low effort guns need more effort to make them viable.

The TR7 is a good example of a skill weapon, yes it kills in 3 bullets in CQB, but it's recoil is horrendous, and you cannot run it with max ammo and the best grips, it's in a very good position balance wise. The SCW10 either needs MORE recoil and a much much slower reload speed. To bring it in line with the category of a skill weapon.

The changes made make the gun no less effective. If I know that the gun I'm being killed with took EFFORT to use and didn't just kill me because it's been coded to 'be good' then it doesn't matter how much I improve as a player, or try to get better because I'm always going to lose to low effort slop.

I wish I had some sway in this games development because I could genuinely fix the issues the game is having if DICE only took the time to listen.

Movement needs to be brought back in line with the beta standard, because you had the ability to dodge and weave and these low skill weapons weren't as much of an issue.

But now it's just get melted by an SCW10 and that's it.

Urrghhhh I want to love this game but it's lack of imagination is just awful.

HOSPITAL UPDATE;

I have returned from the hospital with a clean bill of health. Which is a good thing but also bloody annoying seeing as what I experienced was essentially a heart attack, but according to the tests everything is kosher.

I'm gonna order takeout, eat food and then I'll do the stream, later than usual, but better late than never I guess.

Might be a mixed game stream, depending on how sweaty the lobbies are at around 9pm on a Wednesday

I'll schedule the stream after I've eaten.
So don't worry too much about waiting around.
