Chief Electoral Officer, Himachal Pradesh, Ms. Nandita Gupta, IAS, chaired a review meeting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and Pre-SIR activities at the Mini Secretariat, Killar, Pangi, today. The meeting was attended by the Residential Commissioner and SDM, Pangi, and other officials. Mapping of the 2025 electoral rolls with the 2002 SIR records has been completed for 14,550 out of 15,470 electors (94.14%), while mapping for the remaining 920 electors is pending. The CEO directed officials to complete the in progress work at the earliest and prioritise unmapped cases. Ms. Gupta emphasised that SIR aims to ensure accurate and transparent electoral rolls without causing inconvenience to electors, and that no eligible voter is left out. @ECIVoterEducation

Chief Electoral Officer, Himachal Pradesh, Ms. Nandita Gupta, IAS, visited Sub-Tehsil Sahoo of #Chamba Assembly Constituency and inspected Polling Stations Padhar-I and Padhar-II on 7 October 2026. During her visit, she reviewed the mapping of #electors from the 2002 Electoral Roll with the present Electoral Roll being carried out by Booth Level Officers (#BLOs). Ms. Gupta directed the BLOs to complete the mapping process at the earliest and to organize awareness camps in their respective polling stations regarding the Pre-Special Intensive Revision (Pre-#SIR). She further instructed the BLOs to ensure that, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, electors who are served notices during the Pre-SIR process due to non-submission of required documents or logical discrepancies will not be required to visit the ERO office for hearings. She instructed the BLOs and Election department staff to be pro active in assisting and guiding electors who approach the administration regarding documents for verification. The CEO directed the EROs to organise the awareness and registration camps of BLOs to make general public aware of registration process and also complete mapping of Electoral Roll. She further directed that during SIR process electors who will be issued notices for lack of required documents or having logical discrepancies need not come to ERO offices for hearing. Concerned Booth Level Officers will visit the houses of all such electors to collect the documents. EROs have also been directed to conduct online hearing and electors may authorise adult member of their family to attend hearing on their behalf. The quarterly inspection of the EVM-VVPAT warehouse was conducted today, 24 September 2026, at Nahan, Sirmaur, by the Worthy Chief Electoral Officer, Himachal Pradesh, Ms. Nandita Gupta, IAS, along with the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Sirmaur and other officials. The inspection was carried out as part of the periodic review of the storage and security arrangements of EVMs and VVPATs.CEO instructed the police personnel to demonstrate readiness for fire control.
