Hi! I’m a huge YunYi fan (from the U.S.) and try to collect their videos here and add subtitles whenever needed for other international fans. I try to provide higher quality subs than machine-generated ones which often don’t make sense, and I also try to cover the longer videos (concerts, livestreams). One of the accomplishments here is I’ve subbed every one their livestreams (at least the non-brand endorsed streams) and collected them in a playlist, so any new fan can follow them from the beginning. In case you haven’t heard, they just announced that Yun Qi and Hao Yiran will hold solo birthday concerts in Thailand in August and September, and also clarified that the other person will not be performing on stage, just watching.
To be honest, I’m pretty heartbroken. Even though these concerts have been rumored for months and I sure they already booked the venue for a while, CP fans have been very vocally against them so I had hoped they would change them to dual concerts. They gave us a lot of dual content in Paris and there were 5+ more dual product endorsements and dual magazine rumored to be coming up, so I had hoped that all the rumors that they would “soft-split” or “purify” the CP after Paris were false.
Yes CP fans could not go to these concerts which will just be a flood of orange/red. But one of the worst things about this announcement is that large amounts of CP fans are leaving the fandom now. This fandom felt like such a strong and stable “family”, always coming out full force to support every dual product endorsement. As I mentioned before, we have been doing 10x more sales as other CBL CPs,and proud of that achievement. Now with this announcement, plus no official confirmation of any second collaboration, the family is scattered and even I will find it hard to spend money on their future dual endorsements, knowing that are trending towards more solo content and catering to solo fans. I really don’t know why the company wants to lose all the CP fans who are still the large majority spending money on them.
If they release dual content, I’ll still translate it. But I have a feeling Paris may have been our last hoorah and there’ll be less and less dual content going forward. I hope I’m wrong though. I hope there really is a second collaboration in the works. But just feeling sad and kind of betrayed by the company right now.
