Starting 2026 by taking the scariest step in my entire YouTube journey…
I removed over 100 videos that no longer attract the audience and community I’m trying to reach.
It was really hard letting go of all these videos I poured so much time and energy into. But my channel needed a fresh start aligned with the newer direction I’m headed in!
I’ve been replaying God of War (2018) since I never got around to finishing it and it only solidifies that Bear McCreary might be one of my all time favorite composers.
I’m always in awe of the level of world building he pours into his work!
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the musical tools for fantasy and Christmas are so similar. This is why John Williams' score for the Sorcerer's Stone works so perfectly for this specific story!
And since it’s John Williams, he uses more than just sleigh bells and celesta to create that Christmasy/wintery sound....
To get ready for Christmas, my next OdysseyNotes Pro post is gonna be about John Williams’ “Christmas at Hogwarts” music!
We’ll discuss what makes Christmas music sound so wintery and cozy. But also how Williams uses the music to blend Christmas with the sound of magic.

With the ThinkSpace Orchestral Composition Bootcamp coming to a close for the year, it made me really reflect on momentum, inspiration, and staying creative when we're in a bit of a rut. Especially heading into the new year!
