The game has changed. Clients aren’t just reading your bio anymore.. they’re seeing AI-generated "Insights" about your work history before they even click your profile.
Look at this screenshot from my search results. Upwork is now highlighting:
✅ Specific Wins: Like fixing performance issues for a yoga studio. ✅ Client Sentiments: Highlighting that I work "fast." ✅ Match Relevancy: Showing exactly how many jobs I’ve done related to the client's search.
If your profile isn't "feeding" the algorithm the right data, you’re missing out on high-quality invites.
My tip? Use your portfolio descriptions to explain the problem and the result. Also, fill all those skill tags. That’s where these insights are pulled from!

If you don't have much time to look and apply for jobs in Upwork everyday, you might want to turn on your Availability Badge like in the photo below.
Clients will see that you're "available now" for projects or work, so there's a higher chance they will invite you or message you for work.
I tried doing this last year, and I got several invites to work with them. Also, I noticed that you're more likely to be on the first page of the talent search when the client is browsing.
