NAGPUR Railway station Major Upgradation/Redevelopment
Cost 487.77 crores
Indian Railways has taken an ambitious scheme of Major Upgradation/Redevelopment of Major stations. Under which Nagpur station is selected.
The work of Redevelopment at station has been started. The completed/started/future planned works are as follows-
A) Completed/Started works-
-Tender awarded
-Ground work started -Dismantling & Relocation of old short sidings completed
-Dismantling of abandoned structures & old structures completed
-Trenching & excavation work started
-Utility shifting of Electrical cables, water and sewerage pipelines completed
-Drone survey, topographical survey, Tree surveys completed
-Dismantling of Narrow gauge platforms and sheds completed
B) Scope of works-
Following new works will be done-
-Iconic Heritage building of Nagpur station will be preserved & restored to its original glory
-Segregation of arrival and departure of passengers will be done
-Integration with metro and other modes of transportation will be done
-Defined drop-off and pick-up area for road vehicles will be developed
-West side station building modification and East side building modification will be done
-Waiting area with adequate seating capacity and concourse will be developed
-Retail concourse area will be developed
-Basement parkings on West side and East side will be developed
-Roof plaza concourse above platforms will be developed
-2 new FOBs (Foot Over Bridges) will be developed
-28 new Lifts will be installed
-31 new escalators will be installed
-Divyangjan friendly designs
-CCTVs and access control for security
-Green buildings with solar energy, water conservation, rainwater harvesting
-Maximum space provided for passengers circulation.
