What do you tell yourself when things feel heavy?

What internal dialogue plays out when your agency loses a big account, when you're passed up for the promotion, when you don't meet your sales quota for the month?

Do you succumb to a story of lack and despair, or do you embody the energy of radical faith and conscious expansion?

I wrote my latest book, I Am Alaere: Declarations for a Brave Heart and Sovereign Mind, during one of the most challenging years of my life. It was a time when everything felt heavy at the same time.

In 2025 I spent 6 months navigating a lawsuit I had to file against a gallery that damaged one of my most popular paintings. I also had a severe knee injury that landed me on crutches and bed rest for weeks. Both situations significantly reduced my studio time and impaired my ability to reach certain goals in the timeframes I wanted.

There were days I would wake up in tears, overwhelmed with life and questioning what the point was.

But then, ultimately, I discovered my true armor resided in the thoughts and declarations I said over my life and circumstances.

"A man is but a product of his thoughts, what he thinks he becomes" is my favorite quote by Mahatma Gandhi.

I've experienced enough miracles in this life to know that it's true.
At every new level of expansion in my life, I've had to upgrade my thoughts to reach a higher realm of belief in myself and my capabilities.

The catalyst? Often less than ideal circumstances.

Alaere means “queen, or woman of substance” in my mother’s native language, Ijaw. A collection of sacred declarations inspired by spiritual traditions passed on to me by my mother, I Am Alaere creatively expresses my embodiment of that divine identity.

This ebook is a rebuttal against society's deceit that tells us to wade in hopelessness when the going gets tough.

I wrote I Am Alaere to help every reader restore daily connection to their higher self in the midst of external chaos, and I'm trusting that this ebook will reach those who need a reminder of their inner strength.

Today felt so heavy, but I told myself that I could sing myself into higher spirits. The magical elixir of music is always good for the soul, so I made a song today on the spot and decided to post it on Youtube.

Doing so was very scary but it was also a rush of something indescribable.

I hope you listen to the imperfect song I made, because it felt really good to put out into the world.

I'm going to keep teaching myself how to do hard things that ultimately bring me joy, and I'll share as much of the journey as I can.
