Hello and welcome to my brain! I build instruments, write songs and make brightly-coloured music videos! I also host a weekly show about my vinyl collection, "Vinyl Friday"! Enjoy.
This channel has been running for nearly three and a half years, and I've really enjoyed seeing how it has evolved and grown. It began alphabetically, but that has since given way to a different and more structured approach. There are, of course, a lot of Beatles-related videos, but some of my favourites to make are the loosely themed thought experiments at the top of the month.
Coming up in May!
Week 1: a meditation on ageing musicians Week 2: Piggies, on the White Album Peregrination! Week 3: Classic Album Week (poll in progress) Week 4: a NZ Music Month special Week 5: a Blue Friday cover (suggestions welcome)
And for those who were concerned, the peace lily has made a full recovery. I told you, she's just a big drama queen!
Hi everyone! I put out a call for postcard requests recently, as I'll be doing another run this weekend for people who missed out. There were quite a lot of requests, but they are unfortunately buried in a video that had a lot of comments. I've made a note of some of them, but if you could please (also) let me know of any requests you might have here, I'll have them all collated in one place.
He may not have won this month's classic album poll, but Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam has earned himself a place in the spotlight in this week's Vinyl Friday. Although it's not about the Beatles, this may be my favourite episode, of the 171 published!
There have been a lot of newcomers to the channel of late - welcome! Here's a bit of a rundown of what to expect on Vinyl Friday this coming month:
Tomorrow - a poll for this month's classic album! This coming Friday - a special episode for Earth Day The following Friday - the next episode of our White Album Peregrination, this time on "Blackbird" The one after that - as determined by tomorrow's poll Last Friday of the month - something simple and fun. :)
Hello parasocial internet friends! Tomorrow's episode will deal with some potentially thorny material, but I'm especially proud of it. I've heard tell that the YouTube algorithm shies away from certain dicey subjects, and have definitely found that some of the more controversial episodes of Vinyl Friday haven't gotten the reach that the safer ones have.
If you can't locate tomorrow's episode, kindly navigate your way to my page - it'll be there waiting for ya. See you tomorrow!
Edit: I'm loving watching the poll progress this month - at various stages since Wednesday, each of the four albums has been leading. Curious to see where we end up!
Latest haul! Special thanks to the viewer who bought the Grateful Dead album for me for Christmas - I know that it's only January, but I think it'll end up being a favourite this year.
