This past week I worked on a socially conscious song that will either be part of the Bring Back The Love album or be released as a standalone.

This is how I process what’s happening in our world. I take in what I see and feel, and I put it into lyrics and melody. Sometimes it becomes questions. Sometimes it becomes petitions. But it always gives me peace knowing the Creator will walk with me, and with us, through these times. 💎💎💎

The chorus says:

I’m counting on you now to guide me
I’m praying hard for you to show me
I’m trusting that you will protect me
and walk me through these times

Not only me but friends and family
and those that feel they’re in the valley

Each week I’ll share what I’ve come to know over my years as a music artist, along with stories and experiences that can give you tips and help guide you on your own path. Here's a throwback of me caught up in a moment. Mid-thought. Mid-dream. A songwriter is who I've always been.

This photo was snapped in '96, sitting on my mom and papa Walt's couch with a pen in hand and the Walkman turned all the way up. I don't even remember who took it, but they caught something special. I didn't know back then where this writing gift would take me, only that it kept me going.

Now, it's a joy to help others create the songs they were meant to make, especially in times like these where people are searching for answers and hope.

Mapping the music one fret at a time. I’m a visual learner and this is my visual roadmap to getting the notes down. All 6 strings, all 12 frets.

I never knew learning guitar was this interesting or intricate. It feels like a form of science with so many cool combinations that reveal different types of sound.
