Initially, we did not intend to visit the fort but whatever made us change our mind, we were glad that we made the right decision. Chittorgarh fort gave us very famous names from our history like Maharana Pratap, Rani Padmini, Maharana Bappa Rawal, Maharana Kumbha etc but the sad part is, we are hardly taught about them. You would feel like suing NCERT for that matter because we are taught about a very handful no. of people that too not in detail while the Invasion by different muslim group is so extensively covered citing the changes introduced by them and what not.And the heroes of our motherland are forgotten like they never existed! All their sacrifice to keep away these invaders is useless as they are not even discussed. The area that was once under the Mewar kingdom was extremely huge. It is said that Gandhar which lies in Afghanistan was once part of the very Kingdom and the city called Rawalpindi which is presently a part of Pakistan was actually named after Bappa Rawal. Why such ignorance to our own motherland? I guess the love for their people and land was not enough!Maybe invaders did a better job at destroying their existence than the heroes who fought to keep them out.
