What's up everyone. Hope you are having a great weekend. Today, i want to talk about Openrouter and how using it you can have free LLM models do the classification work for you.
For example : like maybe you read a RSS feed and filter out stuff that is not relevant basis the context. i do this for filtering "asteroid approaching earth" related articles from a large feed.
Here is how you can do it for FREE using OpenRouter.
1. Use openrouter.ai and call the free models. The models that tend to work well for me are LLAMA 3 8b. (openrouter.ai/models/meta-llama/llama-3-8b-instruc…) , QWEN 2 7b (openrouter.ai/models/qwen/qwen-2-7b-instruct:free)
2.Give a system prompt that informs the model of its role (of doing classification and responding in 1 word)
3. Give a few examples using a combination of user, assistant responses.
4. Make a call with latest example. Your free classifier is ready.
