This is a 2-panel mosaic, that probably should've been a 4-panel. 🤪

The Spaghetti Nebula is a giant, faint, and wispy cloud of gas and dust in space. It’s what remains of a massive star that exploded in a supernova around 40,000 years ago. It’s located in the constellation Taurus, about 3,000 light-years away from Earth.

Skies were unexpectedly clear last night when I wasn't home. Maybe that's the trick! When we arrived back at the house later, I just slewed quickly to the Rosette Nebula and acquired just over an hour of data. Love the HyperStar!

Image taken Mar. 22 2025

The Rosette Nebula is a massive, beautiful cloud of gas and dust in space where new stars are being born. It’s about 5,000 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Monoceros (the Unicorn). The nebula gets its name because it looks like a giant, red-pink cosmic rose in long-exposure images.

At its center, a group of young, bright stars—called the open cluster NGC 2244—has formed from the nebula’s material. These stars give off strong radiation and winds that shape the surrounding gas into a hollow, flower-like structure. The glowing colors come from hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur gas being energized by the stars.

A few months back I put up a video about the very cool Picastro app. Here's the link if you haven't seen it: https://youtu.be/oHgBx6dOe1Q . At the time it was a paid only service, but now they have a no strings attached FREE plan that allows you to browse the galleries, and you can upload up to 15 of your own images. Here's my page. picastro.co.uk/profile/MTEzNg== Come join this awesome community and give me a follow!

Image taken over 2 nights Mar. 09 & Mar. 17 2025 with the moon illuminated at 80% & 90% respectively.

Sh2-224, also known as the Rice Hat Nebula, is a supernova remnant located in the constellation Auriga, approximately 14,700 light-years away from Earth. It’s the aftermath of a massive star’s explosion, where the expanding shockwave has shaped the surrounding gas and dust into an intricate, wispy shell.
