More than ten years ago, while surviving severe domestic violence, I voluntarily relinquished my parental rights to my son Tanner, not because I stopped loving him, but because I was fighting to stay alive. Since then, I have rebuilt my life, yet when Tanner recently asked CPS and law enforcement for help, I believe his fears and repeated reports were not fully heard. Operation Tanner is my promise to keep fighting for him and for every child who feels ignored, punished, or silenced after asking adults for protection.
