Abū al-Dardāʾ (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “There is no good in life except for one of two men: one who keeps silent and retains (what he hears), or one who speaks with knowledge.”
[al-Zuhd wa-l-Raqāʾiq, Ibn al-Mubārak]
How much in dire need we are to ask Allah to make us of those who act upon this quote ?
This ʾIrjāʾ — separating actions from the reality of Īmān — is the most dangerous gateway leading the ummah to disbelief, and to its destruction in sins, disobedience, and transgressions.
It brings about a decline in the concept of worship and the watering down of the Tawḥīd of Worship (Tawḥīd al-Ulūhiyyah).
Among its worst consequences in our era is Shirk al-Tashrī (Shirk of Legislation), by rebelling against the Sharīʿah of the Lord of the earth and the heavens with man-made laws.
According to the implication of this Irjāʾ, such laws are not considered kufr. الردود (203)
Shaikh al-Saʿdī (رحمه الله) comments: Reflect on how all of these noble virtues have come together in this magnificent Book
- It is the greatest of all books - It is brought down by the greatest of the angels - It was revealed upon greatest of all creation - It was revealed to the noblest part of him—his heart - It is revealed for the best nation ever brought forth for mankind - It was revealed to the finest, most eloquent, and most comprehensive of languages: the clear Arabic language

''And indeed, it [i.e.,the Qur’ān] is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds''
''The Trustworthy Spirit [i.e.,Gabriel] has brought it down''
