My father owned a 1952 USMC M38-A1 through the '80s and '90s and sold it I or gave it away in the early 2000s in the Douglas County area (Parker, Elizabeth, or Kiowa).
I learned to drive on this rig when I was 10 years old. My father (Tom) passed away in 2016. He was an active leader in Civil Air Patrol in Franktown and the fire department. He also owned a Dodge M37at the time, so these were well-known rigs in that area. I have fond memories of working on these with my father and driving all over Colorado. That is why I love your channel!
I’ve attached the only photo I have. The hood number is USMC 204079. If anyone in your community has seen this Jeep in a Colorado barn or at a local show, I’d love to find it and hopefully bring it back into the family.
I was told that they were also used in the Die Hard 2 movie, and there was a guy by the name of "Con," a Vietnam vet whom my dad was friends with, who owned a Dodge WC-63."
