Lots of you ask if you can put alternative eReading apps on the little XTEINK guys that I have reviewed. And the answer is basically no, as it is a little ESP32 board.
But now, XTEINK are teasing their new product. Which will be Android!
And the good news is that it will be just as small as the X4, which is a very cool thing.
Don't expect full Google Play, or a very up to date version of Android. Just go with it! Hopefully you'll have a little choice of apps to install, or you'll be able to sideload them on with apks.
And maybe crosspoint? Can we tempt you guys to make a little android skin for this beaut?

This has the potential to keep the supernote system at the top of my recommendations for years to come.
It's going to give you options to add your personal requirements to the note taking app, without bogging down the system or making it overly complex for other users.
I can't wait to see what the supernote/dev community come up with!
Thanks Ed, great coverage!

Well, I'll be honest, this isn't exactly what I thought when I saw dual screen!
We now have a full page to look at with full renders and everything.
It's basically a big watch screen on the back. Check it out.

They say that you can post any app to the rear screen, which, ok, that would be useful, if it was a little bit larger and rectangular. Bit of a miss in my opinion, but I will keep an open mind and try the thing out, and see if it is at least a useful thing for notifications and taking selfies etc. (They also stop short of showing you any actual interaction with those apps in the little video which doesn't bode well to be honest.)
It is at the very least equally specced to the HiBreak Pro, and also has the stylus, (which may or may not be good!) So in that respect, it may still have a shout to be the best e-ink phone currently available.
Check the page out and let me know your thoughts!

And a stylus as well. They really are determined to give you everything.

I saw an interesting comment in Reddit, just that you could have a case which covered whichever screen you were not using, so it feels like either an eink phone, or an LCD phone at any given time.
I'm wondering how it will choose which screen to use, and the case could be an answer to that. Also, I wonder if it'll be a smaller LCD screen, or if it needs to allow full mirroring if the full android interface. Interesting.

Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is here in the UK: amzn.to/3PWwePv
But how interested are you to see me review it? I kind of know what my conclusions will be about it having seen other reviews about it, and it's not cheap. What do you think.
FWIW, I'm pretty sure my opinions will be:
- great reader especially for greaphic novels
- great rendering of static colour images, terrible for anything with moving or interactive content
- annoying UX design, and frustrations trying to navigate around the tablet
- nice writing feel and accuracy, with good pen tools
- some useful productivity aids, like the interactive PDF export
- fun for a bit of drawing, (and the colour adds a little to that)
- fine if you just want to add a little something to your kindle life, look a lot further if you want to do more on e-ink
And really, if someone wanted a kindle scribe, I still think that the main selling point is the price, the deals on the first gen, or the second gen are still an absolute e-ink sweet spot! : amzn.to/4smaYQJ

So it looks like we'll have options, both a "Pro spec" and a regular, and an option of either the b&w e-ink screen or the colour e-ink screen.
I guess I should be surprised at Bigme giving all the options they can!

I know my choice, I'll maybe put that into a comment in a day or so. But I'd live to hear your preferences! Justify and/or argue about it below.
