Since my DR-Z4S is broke down and at the dealer for a leaking fork seal, I figured I’d do a small upgrade to the Trail 125 today: Milk crate mod!

I’ve also got the old DR-Z dialed in and ready for some riding. It’s what I’ll be riding for the next few weekends

I just returned from a 2.5 week trip with two of these three bikes. It started with the Dirtyface Dual Sport event, then the Touratech Rally, then a week of riding on my own, and with a few friends. They all need a bath. See if you you can spot the issue with my DR-Z4S. 😳😳.

I got a survey from Suzuki about my DR-Z4S, which I've owned for 13 months now.
At the very end was a box where I could type up some details.

This is what I had to say:

The only thing I dislike about the DR-Z4S / SM is the fact that you (Suzuki designers) did NOT retain the quick release fasteners / easy, tool free access to the air box, even though that is stated in your literature, and to this day (June 2026) the webpage STILL includes that detail. The 2000-2024 DR-Z400 air box takes 5 seconds and NO TOOLS to open so I can check the condition of the air filter to see if it needs cleaned when I am on a multi-day ride. The DR-Z4S takes at least 5 minutes, and several tools to get the seat off then open the air box to inspect the air filter. IT'S A NUISANCE! I show that in this video on my YouTube Channel:

Here's a video that outlines tree clearing on single track trails. When I am out riding early in the season, it's common to find trees on the road or trail that need moved or cut.
Years ago I started carrying a pair of leather work gloves in my backpack so I don't wreck my riding gloves moving trees or doing trail maintenance. Some really good gloves just came on sale at Amazon. Even the regular price is far less than buying the same style gloves locally.

I'm working on a new DR-Z4S Maintenance video. It should be ready later today.
I did this project not long after buying my DR-Z4S. I wanted to do it right after buying the bike, it didn't happen until about a month later.
It covers things that should be done before riding the bike in wet conditions, so you don't end up with rusty suspension pivot bolts.
