I thought you might find this interesting from our analytics. Look how many Kiwis we have! I admit I didn't think people who already live here would be interested in listening to me drone on about what it's like to live here, but shows what I know (which is... very little).

A lot of people have asked about immigration and related questions, so I'll get in touch with someone who actually works in immigration and see if we can put some kind of resource out to help those interested.

Oh and also I can't tell you how much I appreciate the general positivity in that latest video's comment section. I am humbled!

Folks, it's me again. I can't tell you how pleased I am that people have generally liked my NZ video, and I am surprised at how many Kiwis in particular have popped by to say hello and generally be so kind and welcoming. I love it. This is what YouTube is about, for me.

I thought in a future video I could show you our house here in NZ. Our decor, the good things, the things that need repair, how a typical house might differ from a typical US house, cost, that kind of thing.

Wow, we've reached 3,000 subscribers! This proves to me that people like us can carve out our own little spaces in this internet and talk about the real things!

In tomorrow's video (posted around 1pm ET Thursday), we'll be taking a stroll along a gorgeous rocky coastline and talking about leaving the USA, moving to New Zealand, and that elusive work-life balance thing so many of us are searching for!

We're also going to be battling some high winds, so apologies in advance for some "interesting" audio.

In the recent poll, meeting the cats and houseplants came as a close second to seeing a bit more of the local outdoors. I've been trying to capture some clips that showcase more of the cats' personalities. In the link below, you can get a glimpse of just how much of a limpet Piper (the tabby) is. When there is a moment where my attention is on something other than her, she appears out of thin air and reclaims her rightful place.

This tiny channel just got monetized!? I'm in shock (though Molly seems to be handling it well).

We have people here of all ages and from so many corners of the world. I am so thankful to you for feeling comfortable enough to share a bit of your own life's journey in the comments, and I love to see viewers helping each other out when someone asks for advice. This is exactly what our little corner of the internet is all about.

Hello, wonderful community. It's an absolutely miserably rainy day here today, so I'm spending some time this morning trying to stay warm while I reply to some of your comments.

Molly, as usual, is doing her thing and providing emotional support while forcing me to awkwardly position the keyboard much further away than it's meant to be. Hey, cats do important work, alright? xD

Some folks have asked for my email address to share some stories that they don't want hanging around in the comments section. You can find my email address in the "more info" section right off the channel main page, if you expand the channel description. (That's where it is on web version of YT, anyway - I'm not sure if the mobile version shows the same amount of info!)

The email address is accessed via clicking "view email address" right toward the bottom of the channel description. I assume YT does this extra click to help combat spam, which is why I haven't written it in more plain sight.

Hello, wonderful people!

In a couple of days my best friend and I are heading for a half marathon in actual Hobbiton. (Before you worry that I'm one of those weird fit people, I assure you, we shall be WALKING!)

Here we are from last year's event. Last year it was a welcome reprieve from a job I absolutely hated. This year, it'll be a wonderful little adventure before I continue planning my next phase in life.

Wish us luck! Next week I will share a video with you of our Hobbiton escapades.
