Sure, no problem g. A .50 AAA bullet generally weighs 5.9KG (projectile, no casing). Its muzzle velocity is of 890m/s. Disconsidering air resistance (ofc, cuz its always like that) and considering a linear projectile path with no arching:

KineticEnergy=0.5×5.9kg×(890m/s)^2 = 2,336,695 Joules

So in kgf/m that would be

2,336,695/9.81m/s^2 = 238,300kgf/m

The weight force in newtons would be:

F = 5.9kg x 9.81m/s^2 ~= 57.9N or 5.9kgf

Now if that hits an inpenetrable titanium sheet of ~60x35cm with a thickness of ~5cm, the energy distributed to the human directly against it would be of:

Favg (on impact)= 33,381,357 (deltaKE)/9.81 ~= 3,403,000kgf

P (force distribution) = 33,381,357/0.21 (plate area) ~= 158,958,843Pa

Considering the total reaction force on the body is the same due to Newton's third law we get 3,403,000kgf again. (only in this hypothetical scenario with no energy loss)

Now the plate acceleration:

Density of Ti= 4500kg/m3
Plate volume: 0.0105m3
Plate mass = 47.25kg
Momentum = 5,251kg/m/s (only if inelastic collision, again)
Total mass post collision = 53.15kg
Post-impact velocity = 5,251 / 53.15 ~= 98.8m/s

KE (kinetic energy after impact) = 0.5 x 43.15 x (98.78)^2 ~= 259,408J
That's somewhere around 80 rifle bullets (~10g at 800m/s)

With a compressive strength of soft tissue on the human body being ~10-20MPa (1-5MPa for fat). And a compressive strength of bone (cortical) ~100-200MPa

This distributed over the .21m2 area would not be enough to cleanly cut through the body because of force distribution through a flat surface (which even in this scenario, with no energy loss, is still not enough to move the plate clean through the body.
~3,000J would already be lethal, we're talking about almost 260,000J so, definitely will crush your bones to specks and turn you into a mush.

Concluding for you: No, it would not rip through the body. It would probably just embed into the body which would deform drastically around the plate. In reality the person would be thrown back, the energy would be mostly lost to the environment and the elasticity of the materials would again distribute energy to the environment.
So no, this is not true. Glad we could come to a conclusion.
