All hail Queen Lulu 👑🐑

Ruler of TIERART Wild Animal Sanctuary, inspector of construction zones, and self-appointed golf cart co-pilot, Lulu lives for the thrill of the forbidden. 🚧🛺

This Cameroon sheep has never quite accepted her “sheep status”… and honestly? She’s too busy being iconic. From sneaking behind fences to demolishing freshly planted gardens overnight, Lulu always keeps her caretakers on their toes. 🌱

More dog than sheep, she lives for cuddles, skill challenges, and chasing targets and she’s mastered it all like a pro. Vaccination training? Easy. “Stay” command? Nailed it. Being the centre of attention? Born for it.

Lulu’s journey to the sanctuary began in September 2017, when she was just a 12-week-old bottle-fed lamb. Raised in a private apartment by her previous owner, Lulu was kept as a pet, but her owners soon realized they couldn’t provide her with the space and environment she needed for a happy life. And so, Lulu found her way to TIERART, where she could finally have the room to roam. 🌳

Forgive, but never forget 👁️‍🗨️ 🐆.
This is what we see in Bakari’s eyes -
a quiet reminder of all he has endured.
Bakari was once used as a photo prop - another victim of a cruel trade that turns sentient beings into tourist attractions.
Wild animals are not photo props❕.

If you’d like to see leopards like Bakari, please visit #TrueSanctuaries like LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary,
where the animals can choose whether to show themselves or retreat. 🐾

Because a true sanctuary ensures their needs always come first.

Albania is at a crossroads.

Thousands of people are taking to the streets to protest the destruction of protected coastal wetlands, demanding stronger protection for the country’s natural heritage. 📢

Meanwhile, another wildlife crisis continues to unfold across the country.

Just weeks ago, a lion cub was filmed being walked on a public street near the same region as the protests. Multiple bear cubs, likely taken from the wild, have also been documented being kept as pets. These cases are alarming reminders that wild animals are still being treated as private property rather than protected wildlife. 💔

Keeping wild animals as pets puts both animals and people at risk. Many suffer from inadequate care, inappropriate living conditions, and are often removed from their natural habitats. For native species such as bears, this can also have serious consequences for wildlife management.

These incidents are not isolated. They highlight the urgent need for stronger wildlife protection, better enforcement, and legislation that ends the private keeping of wild animals.

A future built on sustainability cannot coexist with the destruction of protected ecosystems or the private keeping of wild animals. 🐾

We are calling on the Albanian government to take decisive action to protect wildlife, strengthen environmental protections, and end the private keeping of wild animals.

Help us raise awareness and advocate for the changes Albania’s wildlife urgently needs and share this post.

Wild animals belong in the wild, not in private hands! 🐻

One Step Closer: Hungary moves to end wild animals in circuses! 🐘✨

Hungary is taking a major step towards ending the use of wild animals in circuses. Following the first cabinet meeting of the new government, officials announced plans to ban performances involving wild animals such as elephants, big cats and primates. 🐅

According to reports, the ban would come into force after the current circus season, allowing time for a proper transition. Currently, Indian elephant Szandra is the last wild animal still performing in Hungary’s circus rings. 💔
Encouragingly, leading Hungarian circus institutions have welcomed the decision, recognising the need for change and stronger animal welfare standards!

Across Europe, the direction is clear: most EU countries already have national bans or strict restrictions on the use of wild animals in circuses. Germany now remains one of the last EU countries without a nationwide ban – despite growing public support for reform. 📢

This is not an isolated debate; it’s part of a global shift! More and more countries are recognising that wild animals do not belong in circuses, and that modern entertainment should no longer rely on animal suffering.

We will continue working towards a future where circuses thrive through human creativity and talent – not the exploitation of animals! ✨

🐈🍖🐕 13 dead dogs found in bag
🚔 Police in Da Nang City, Vietnam, chased two suspected dog meat thieves after noticing them riding a motorbike carrying a large sack. 🇻🇳

🚨 When officers began pursuing them, the suspects fled into a nearby wooded area. However, they were forced to abandon both their motorbike and the sack. 🏍️

💔 Sadly, what police found inside the bag was heartbreaking: 13 dead dogs. They had either been stolen and killed or died during transport.

We are glad to see the Vietnamese authorities taking action. However, millions of dogs and cats still die every year as part of the dog and cat meat trade. 🛑

Ramba 🤍🐯

Once rescued from illegal private captivity in Czechia, this beautiful tigress is now thriving at our TIERART Wild Animal Sanctuary. 💚

Since 2023, Ramba has been enjoying the peaceful life she deserves, sunbathing on her favourite wooden platform, watching over her surroundings, and finding joy in the little things. 🌞

Her enclosure is filled with lush bamboo (her absolute favourite!), where you can often spot her playfully hiding, stalking, or simply relaxing. 🌿

Did you know that a cow 🐮 would naturally only produce milk to feed her own calf⁉️
Considered a by-product of the dairy industry, calves 🐮🍼 are taken from their mothers shortly after birth so that the milk can be used for human consumption. The distress is profound: calves cry out for their mothers for hours 💔.
Many of these calves are then transported over long distances – often for days. During these journeys, they may suffer from hunger, dehydration, exhaustion, and overcrowding. The conditions can be harsh and the experience extremely stressful, especially for such young animals. Many do not survive the journey. Those who do often face a cruel fate upon arrival, where conditions and methods of slaughter can be deeply distressing.
Dairy cows themselves are typically used for milk production for around 5 years before being slaughtered - despite having a natural life expectancy of up to 25 years in a safe environment‼️
The dairy industry is also one of the major drivers of live animal transport. It’s worth bearing in mind the next time you take a sip of milk.
We urge the European Parliament to deliver stronger protections in the live transport proposal to safeguard the welfare of calves and other farm animals.
