Life is all about maintaining balance. Well, that's what we hear. It's true that balance is a way to separate your focus and time. But the more I experience life, I think the idea of seasons is more useful than a concept of balance. For a time, you're focus is or one or two passions will consume a portion of your life. Then after a few months that will change. That's not a personal failing. Failure to equally distribute your time and attention to family, school/work, hobbies, physical activity is not an indictment on your character. Heck, doing that is basically impossible. So cut yourself some slack. Remember, you are important, and if you haven't heard it today, you're loved.

Sometimes life puts a bump in your path. Sometimes that bump is more like a mountain. You can either roll with the change in elevation and climb the mountain, or you can tunnel through. Or you could always just chill at the base I suppose, and that's great for a little bit, but eventual, you'll need to move forward. Regardless, your mindset is going to make the mountains feel like impossible tasks or fun challenges. I have trouble seeing mountains as any thing but annoying obstacles, but I'm sure if I could just trick my brain into seeing them as growth opportunities, the traversal of hardships would be much improved. Remember, you are important, and if you haven't heard it today, you're loved.
