The eye contact. The tension. The things they’re definitely not saying out loud… 👀🔥

To everyone who joined us for a wonderful evening in Soho—thank you. The room may have been sold out, with around 100 people, but what stayed with us long after the evening ended were the conversations. Hearing how our films helped people come out, feel seen, or simply realise that being queer could be a joyful thing is something we'll never take for granted.

Your generosity made the evening even more meaningful. Together, we raised £1,000 for Switchboard, the UK's national LGBTQIA+ support line, helping ensure more people have access to a safe, confidential space to be heard.

Our heartfelt thanks to Sarah Rench, Nikki Chubb, and the teams at Mint and RepresentAI UK for bringing this special evening together in support of Switchboard. And to everyone who attended, donated, shared your stories, and supported the event—this was only possible because of you.

Stories have always been at the heart of what we do. Thank you for reminding us that they don't end when the credits roll—they continue in the lives of the people they touch.

With love and gratitude. ❤️

A sold-out room is always wonderful. But that wasn’t the best part of the evening.

The best part was the conversations afterwards. Hearing people share that our stories helped them come out, helped them feel seen, or helped them realise that being queer could be a joyful thing is something I’ll never take for granted.

That’s why we keep telling these stories.

You spend years creating a story, hoping it finds the people who need it. Most of the time, you never really know where it ends up. Then, every so often, someone tells you what these stories have meant to them. Those moments never lose their power.

Thank you to everyone who came, listened, laughed, asked such thoughtful questions, and shared your own stories so generously. Thank you to Melanie Rickey for guiding such a thoughtful conversation, and to Sarah Wrench of RepresentAI, and Nikki Chubb of Mint Events London for bringing us all together.

It was also lovely to share the evening with my wife, Hanan, and our son, Luca. :)

I came home feeling hopeful, grateful, and even more inspired to keep telling stories. ❤️🎥

What's the smoothest line you've ever heard in a movie? 😍

This one has to be up there: "Maybe you wanted to see me."

Did it make you smile the first time you watched it? ❤️

Happy Birthday, Sheetal Sheth!🎂✨

Looking through these photographs today, I'm reminded of just how many stories we've shared over the years.

There are the films, of course—the characters, the journeys, the moments that found their way into audiences' hearts. But what I find myself thinking about most are the memories behind the camera: the laughter, the conversations, the adventures, and the friendship that grew alongside the work.

You’ve always brought such honesty, warmth, intelligence and generosity to every role, and it's been a privilege to watch you bring Leyla and Amina to life with such grace and heart. Thank you for the stories we've told together, and for all the ones that exist beyond the screen.

Wishing you a birthday filled with love, laughter, and all the joy you bring to so many others.

With so much love,

Shamim

Okay, so here’s the thing—this month in the kitchen (and in life), things got a little… spicy....

Come read Shamim's latest piece, ‘Garlic Is Not Measured in Cloves but in Courage.’ It’s full of love, chaos, and the tiny rules that somehow make life delicious.

And because it’s Pride Month, we’re giving founding members a little extra love—25% off your subscription. Pull up a chair, grab a cup of something, and join us! :)
