🎬 THE FIRST EVER ABIBITUMI ABIBIFAHODIE FILM FESTIVAL – HISTORY MADE

From red, black, and green carpets… to powerful screenings, discussions, music, and legacy moments — the first ever Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival officially made history in Ghana.

What began as a vision became a living, breathing celebration of Black cinema, Black memory, and Black power in motion — from You Hide Me (1970) by Nii Kwate Owoo to the bold new voices of today.

This post shares a few visual moments from that historic weekend.
Thank you to every filmmaker, juror, performer, volunteer, partner, and audience member who stood with this movement from Day One.

✊🏾 Demonstration Over Conversation.
This is only the beginning.

My People!

E Kene m unu!

I know I’ve been quiet this year so I wanted to share some of what I’ve been doing. The last few months have been spent between Nigeria and Ghana where I’m heavily involved in the planning of the 2025 Abibitumi Conference, as well as the first Abibitumi Film Festival in November (more on that, later)

I’m also very excited to share that I’ve also been building a Fashion brand specialising in African Menswear, named Ọ. Its slogan is “Telling Your Story”

They come in SIX COLOURS: Teal Green, Wine, Beige, Black, Navy Blue and Off-White.

We’re available on Instagram @onuoramenswear and if you’d like to place an order, contact +234 902 978 6545.
