Bern’s old town turns lively before sunrise on Zibelemärit day. Stalls go up fast, onion braids hang in long rows and the first batches of soup and pies are already cooking. The mix of food smells, chatter and early light gives the whole area a busy start.

Visitors can wander through the arcades and side streets to try local snacks, browse crafts and watch kids tossing confetti.

For anyone traveling through Bern in late autumn, this market offers a close look at a tradition that locals care about and take part in every year.

The Stoos Ridge Hike is one of the most famous ridge trails in Switzerland, and it is just a short trip from Lucerne.

This hike connects two peaks, Klingenstock and Fronalpstock, with a 4 km trail full of ups and downs, endless stairs, and dramatic ridge sections. It is not the easiest hike, but the payoff is incredible. You get mountain panoramas on one side, and then the big reveal of Lake Lucerne towards the end.

Here is why people love it:
✅ Narrow ridge walking with chains for safety
✅ Views of the Mythen, Rigi, Pilatus, and the Alps
✅ The steepest funicular in the world to reach Stoos village
✅ A huge terrace and restaurant at Fronalpstock with the best lake views

🌞 Best time to go: June to October. In winter Stoos turns into a ski resort and the ridge is closed.

👉 Watch this full guide here on YouTube, where you get to know the route, how to get there from Lucerne, which pass covers what, and top tips to make the most of it.

Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen – which one would YOU choose? 🇨🇭🏔️

Both are stunning villages in the Jungfrau Region of Switzerland, but they couldn’t feel more different.

🌄 Grindelwald – bigger, more built-up, packed with activities and adventure.
💦 Lauterbrunnen – peaceful valley, waterfalls everywhere, surrounded by towering cliffs.

In my latest video, I break down:
✅ What each village is like
✅ The best activities in both
✅ Which one’s better for visiting Jungfraujoch
✅ My personal recommendation + insider tips

Have a good weekend!

Basel makes you slow down. Start in the old town with its quirky shops, then watch huge cargo ships glide past the modern Roche towers. The Basel Minster towers over the Rhine, where swimmers drift with the current and ferries cross using only the river’s flow. The Tinguely Fountain clanks and splashes while bakeries tempt with croissants, braided loaves and Pastéis de Nata. By evening the Rhine glows gold as river cruises pass old houses. Basel is best enjoyed unhurried, with plenty of stops for something good to eat.

🌧️ Magical rain walk through Bauen, a small village right on Lake Lucerne. Filmed during a heavy summer storm with beautiful rain sounds. It’s a village of Switzerland most people don’t get to see.

Lauterbrunnen Valley 🇨🇭 is one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland. Lauterbrunnen’s cliffs, waterfalls and quiet paths always amaze me. Plus, when the cows are there, it all gets so much better!

If you feel like escaping into Swiss nature for a few minutes, join the walking tour.

Anyone else love this valley as much as I do?

Walking around Lucerne, Switzerland 🇨🇭 at sunset in summer completely changes the vibe.

The day crowds thin out, the light softens, and the old town streets feel almost calm again.

Most people hang around Chapel Bridge, which is beautiful, but if you follow the river downstream from the bridge, you’ll discover some amazing spots many folks skip. There’s this stretch where you get views of the river flowing past the old town buildings, with the Musegg city wall rising behind them. The colors at sunset hit differently here — the water reflects the pastel houses and the sky turns all sorts of pink and orange.

Go even further south, past the busier areas, and you’ll wander into quiet residential neighborhoods. It’s super peaceful, and you still get glimpses of the mountains in the distance. The walk takes you through little bridges, parks, and streets locals actually use, and suddenly Lucerne feels less touristy and more like a place people live.

Lucerne isn’t just Chapel Bridge and the lake views (though those are incredible too). Evening walks show you another side of the city, and it’s one of the best free things to do in Lucerne.

🚆 Did you know you don’t need to take the Glacier Express to experience its stunning route? 🇨🇭

Many people think the Glacier Express is the only way to see Switzerland’s most scenic train journey, but regular trains follow the same route—and they offer an even better experience for photographers! 📸

The train in my latest video features a special open-window compartment, giving you unobstructed views of the Swiss Alps—something you won’t get in most panoramic trains.

Would you prefer the luxury of the Glacier Express or the open windows of a regular train? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️
