After many rumors and leaks, Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version are finally coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2!

They will be available for download on the Nintendo eShop immediately following the Pokémon Present scheduled for February 27 at 6 a.m. PST. The games will cost $19.99 each and will be exclusive to the Nintendo eShop; there will be no physical version. The games will be available in multiple languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese. Local wireless multiplayer returns from the original games, but online multiplayer has not yet been confirmed. Pokémon HOME support will be added in a future update. Pokémon FireRed's post-game content, the Sevii Islands, will return in this port.

Nintendo announced a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. It boosts the game's frame rate to 60fps and also improves the resolution to 4K. The full game with the Switch 2 Edition costs $64.99, while the upgrade bundle is $4.99. A physical version will be released on April 16, which also happens to be the same day Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream is released lol. The game looks beautiful in 4K, and I hope some of the other games in the series get the same treatment. Cool!

RUMOR:
⚠️ TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, NOTHING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY NINTENDO YET⚠️

🍄 A rumor is circulating these days that there will be a General Nintendo Direct this week which will feature an announcement for a new Monolith Soft project, and most importantly, a trailer for the next 3D Mario game.

ℹ️ This rumor comes from Nash Weedle, a leaker considered reliable by many. However, he's gotten a lot of things wrong in the past. He's nowhere near as reliable as Nate the Hate or SwitchForce. However, you have to give him credit for getting things right in the past.

📰 So, two weeks ago, AttackTheBacklog posted a podcast episode on YouTube, which also featured Nash Weedle. There, Nash said that some of his sources were saying a General Nintendo Direct would happen in March, while others were suggesting a Direct in the third week of February. A week later, AttackTheBacklog posted another podcast episode where Nash Weedle said that some of the sources who were previously saying March have changed their minds, saying the Direct will happen in February. So now, Nash is more of the opinion that the Direct will happen in the third week of February. Only one of his sources is telling him that the Direct is in March.
Supporting this idea, Attack The Backlog (a very reliable leaker) says he's heard something big is coming, but his sources haven't told him what.

✅ Reasons Why a General Nintendo Direct Might Happen This Week:

🟢 Nintendo typically hosts General Nintendo Direct presentations three times a year: one in February, one in June, and one in September, so it would make sense if there was a General Nintendo Direct presentation in February this year as well.

🟢 Nothing major is supposed to happen this week, no events or game releases (except for the Virtual Boy, which isn't a particularly significant release). So it's an empty week, perfect for a Nintendo Direct.


🟢 Nintendo has a lot to announce, including more information and release dates on already announced games (Splatoon Raiders, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave), and there are no Summer games yet, so Nintendo needs to get some information out there.

❌ Reasons Why a General Nintendo Direct Might Not Happen This Week:

🔴 Two weeks ago, a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase aired, revealing information about third-party games. Unfortunately, when Nintendo releases these in a month, it usually means they have no information to share and there likely won't be another Nintendo Direct that month.


🔴 Only Nash Weedle says there's a Nintendo Direct happening this week. When there's a real Direct, multiple sources usually come out and say it's happening. Not this time, he's the only one saying so. No Nate the Hate, no SwitchForce, and no VGC.


🔴 Nate the Hate hasn't heard anything about a Nintendo Direct this week. Most of the time, that means there won't be a Direct.

❔What do I think about this rumor?

💭Nash Weedle is a leaker who's gotten a lot of things right in the past, so on one hand, I want to believe he's right. However, this whole thing about Nate the Hate not hearing anything, and no one else mentioning a Direct this week, worries me. Plus, a partner showcase already happened this month, so having two Nintendo Directs in one month seems strange. As much as I'd love to be wrong, I don't think a Nintendo Direct will happen in February. I think we will have to wait until March, and the next General Nintendo Direct will be closer to March 10 (Mar10 Day). If a Direct does happen, I'll trust Nash Weedle and check everything he posts and his leaks. But if that doesn't happen, his reputation will be destroyed, and no one will believe him, including me. We'll see...
