I’ve worked remotely as a UI/UX designer for 6 years now...
And it’s the single best career decision I’ve made. It’s the reason I get to work from a setup like this, create content alongside it, and achieve what I have today. ✨
Getting the job involved two main things: knowing where to look, and knowing how to articulate yourself.
You need to communicate your expertise clearly, speak with confidence, and show what you can actually bring to the table. I mean, most people have the skills, but they just can’t explain them under pressure (even I struggle sometimes if placed on the spot lol).
If you need help landing your first remote role, @finalroundai has an AI interview copilot that keeps you structured during interviews.
These are the essentials I brought with me for my India trip this round (that still allows me to create high-quality content on-the-go) ✨
Travelling light is a non-negotiable for me, as I hate bulk — yet I need maximum capabilities for work. I sometimes create content and edit while travelling, and still work on my UIUX design 9-5 remotely if I’m not a full-on holiday trip.
My iPhone 17 Pro and MacBook Pro M3 Max are definitely non-negotiables. It’s what I create with, and my recent upgrade to the M3 Max was one of my most worth purchases in awhile, allowing me to work intensively and smoothly without having to be plugged in.
The only other things I wanted to bring along were my inflatable tube light and magic arm, but looking at my content calendar, I didn’t have a real need for them this time around.
I will be forever grateful for this space. It is the BEST thing to have — but my real turning point was 6 years ago, when I got my first remote job.
Before that, I was commuting 90 minutes daily just to travel, and was always exhausted after my 9-5.
Now I work from this exact setup, run a business and create content alongside it.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — remote work is about reclaiming your time and energy to build what matters to you, and for that I’ll always strongly recommend this path.
If you’re trying to land your first remote role (or level up to a better one), Final Round AI has been a game-changer for people in my community, with its interview copilot and more.
I don’t talk about this often, but my first startup failed. 😮💨
It was called Bounty Tasker (I removed it from the App Store but you can Google it) — a gamified to-do list. I was in love with the idea, and used it daily myself, but it took too long and required people I couldn’t afford.
In 2026, speed is the advantage.
With AI app builders, you can launch a prototype within MINUTES. That’s insane tbh. I’d build fast, validate early, and let the product prove itself.
Emergent is the most popular AI app builder in 2025, and it just got a huge funding boost stepping into the new year — you gotta try it out.
If you’ve been around here long enough, you’d know that one of the biggest reasons I am where I am now is because I had my remote job as a stepping stone.
My remote job paid more than decently, which could fund content creation as a hobby — but more importantly, the time I used to spend commuting and feeling drained now can be used productively to create content, improve myself, and even build something bigger.
Not everybody can just quit their job to chase their dreams — I was one of them. But the right job catapulted me into greater heights than ever before.
Start there. Start with the right job.
Comment “finalround” and I’ll send you the link to the platform that automatically applies jobs for you, and even has an interview copilot to help you get the best opportunities.
Appreciating the cozy minimal home office I have — a space where I can be more productive and at peace than ever.
Here's the real sneak peek though — I designed this wallpaper. Let me know how you like it — working on variations and arranging it to be launch-ready! 😌
I owe so much of where I am to my first remote job, which gave me the money, the time, and the flexibility to build an amazing business on the side.
For the 99% of us non-nepo babies, quitting simply isn’t an option — but getting an optimized job will be the first thing to help you get closer towards breaking the cycle.
To this day, I’m still rockin’ the same remote job.
Now the question is — will you start this year, or will it be the same ol’ same ol’?
2026 isn’t about grinding harder — it’s about choosing the right tools. All of these tools are personally curated by me to focus on giving you back either more time or more headspace to chase your dreams.
I genuinely think your life can change over the next year. From landing a higher-paying remote job, to launching your first startup, to creating content without the usual friction — each one on this list may remove a real bottleneck.
The biggest shift isn’t AI replacing people. It’s AI giving individuals leverage they never had before.

There’s nowhere quite like home base 🪴✨
I’m back! Trip to India was genuinely great. Quality time with family, new places, good memories. 😌
Walking back into this space reminded me why I put so much thought into building it though... it makes me feel so so pumped to get back to work. 😆
P.S. Wallpapers officially releasing next Monday, designed by yours truly! Can’t wait to share the with y’all 🥳
